He's not even close to Gerrard, he's not even similar. What I would say, is that he is very good in the holding role and a tidy player.100%
In the right team will be best number 8 since Gerard
Another classic move by Chelsea’s academy assessors.
So they deemed Rice, De Bruyne, Salah and Lukaku not good enough and let them go for peanuts
To be fair to them, that was 10 years ago and he was 14 at the time, in fact is it known if they let him go, or he decided to leave?Another classic move by Chelsea’s academy assessors.
I don't agree. He's been misused in a dysfunctional side. I agree with this...I'd be more concerned at paying £65 mill for Kai ' couldn't hit a barn door' Havertz if I were an Arsenal fan.
Certainly much better than Henderson, and I was on record on this Forum a few years back extolling his virtues100%

Totally agree. Said on the other thread how impressive he was for England last week. A great signing for Arsenal. Shows how far Charlie has to go to be fair given his wonder kid tag.Its the market these days isnt it. Personally i think he will be great at Arsenal and will improve further by playing for a much stronger team than west ham. I saw him live recently with England for the first time and although the opposition werent great his positioning and his recyclng of the ball was fantastic. He does the basics very well in winning it and giving it and moving. A trait which many footballers even in the premier league havent managed to master. On the expensive side but Arsenal are getting something they badly need.
Not for me. But look at the rubbish Chelsea and Manyoo have paid similar money for. Is it just the way football is nowadays?Similar to the Mason Mount thread .. is he all that? £105 million?
If he provides a solid base and keeps them ticking over, he provides the platform for the more creative players so in effect he does make things happen just in more of an understated way. As stated elsewhere, his recycling of the ball is top class, it could be a very signing for Arsenal.way overpriced at that fee. He's a good player in the role he plays but he's not the player that makes things happen. Havertz came here with a big reputation and so far has been a disappointment but he's been playing in an ageing team going backwards. Not sure how he'll fit in at Arsenal either with the choices they have going forward either.
yep, i get all that but still feel the fee is too high. They comfortably came second last season and now their expectations will be to challenge right at the very top. But it's the EPL which is awash with money so teams can afford those fees these days.If he provides a solid base and keeps them ticking over, he provides the platform for the more creative players so in effect he does make things happen just in more of an understated way.
