Dembele

He had a very good game today, and they couldn't handle him running at their defence. As o/p says, he played a major part in the goals today

I hope we can sign him permanently, and that he wants to stay here. A very exciting young talent.
Championship clubs will be queuing up for him next season also Brest know they have a real asset so the asking price will be way out of our price range - either way not a hope hell we will be able to sign him regardless how much we might want to

He's such a strong little fella as well to knock off the ball, I would love to keep him but in all honesty we are a shop window for him to go to a Championship club and a big one at that.
Think it depends on Brest
I think they will cash in and if we offer a, fee plus percentage sell on, they may think it more attractive than just a fee from a, championship rival.
He will get more game time here, enhance his reputation and so the transfer is worth more

With the money that’s being spent these days on bang average players I’d of thought plenty of clubs would be willing to pay between 2-4 million for Karamokoooo🎶 🎶🎶the kids dynamite and he’s only just turned 21.it’s a pleasure to see him in Tangerine.

A nod to our recruitment team, was anyone else thinking about signing him?

If they were a far bigger club could have had a real asset, so huge credit for spotting him and getting him here.

He's so quick off the mark, great touch usually, good vision, skilful.

We'd probably have to go up to sign him and even then, probably not possible.

Maybe if we can just convince people he's lightweight and useless before he leaves, we might just cast enough doubt to scare off a few potential buyers.

Made me chuckle when he challenged for a high ball against Santos.
Santos didn’t even jump.
Agree with all the comments though, very good on the ball and excellent vision
Just one blip today when he was passing the ball wide to Pennington and he missed by 20 yards and they got a throw in level with our area.I think we can forgive him for that.
I don’t know the loan rules, or the particular contract with Dembele but can loans be extended without a new contract. If, for instance, Brest wanted to let him out on loan next season and a couple of clubs were interested, do we get first refusal?
Is it up to Dembele and his agent? Can there be a bidding war?
I certainly cannot understand why Brest haven’t recalled him though, or would that have to be in the contract.
Sadly for us I think he is destined for higher things but obviously chuffed for him if and when he does further his career.

His close ball control is Superb! And time and time again, he surprises the guy on the ball and steals it from him with a firm challenge.
After his first few games, I called him 'the wriggler' for the way he can get past or through two or even three players and come out with the ball.
He's continued to wriggle through and past the opposition ever since.
As an aside, would Critch come out of Dembele's progress with credit for coaching him during his progressive period?

He was brilliant for us but I do also see why he wouldn't be getting regular time at higher level clubs given his age and experience. I don't think we have any chance of signing him permanently unless we had an agreement and price within his loan which I doubt. He epitomises what the loan market is for though and I think he will be at a higher end champ club next season. If we go up we may have a tiny chance but even then we'd need to break the bank.
Another case of enjoy him while he's here.

I can only see his value going one way, so Speculate to accumulate. He is the heartbeat of the club, and for a young loanee that is some statement of his potential.

One factor is the surprise success of Brest this year. They are currently 4th in Ligue 1, which is a long way above anyone’s prediction.

Should they maintain that form, and land a nice bit of prize money from their league position (maybe even a Champions League place if they really finish strongly), then you’d expect them to refresh their squad with quality signings.

That might leave Dembele out on the fringes and available for sale as a decent price.

Ninja edit: they are actually 2nd place in Ligue 1 now so they are in the CL spots. Come on Stade Brestois!!

Thommo & Andy B were full of praise for Kaddy.
They also highlighted how NC's coaching has improved his all round play.
The downside of developing a loan player, who hasn't been given a chance at his parent club, is obvious. Kaddy is in the shop window & clubs with far more money than us will bid for him & Brest / his agent will accept the best offer (Brest is best 🤣 ).
We can only hope that Kaddy is so grateful for NC's coaching, and he enjoys it so much at BFC, that he tells his agent & Brest that he wants to stay with us!

Dembele is a very good player but not one PL or C club would pay 6/7 m for a League 1 player..£1m max I'd say is realistic and maybe within our range..
He’s still young and for a small guy incredibly tenacious and quick too….sadly he won’t be here next year and worth a lot more than you suggest.

Hes a joy to watch, enjoy it whilst he is here. Seen loads of players the last 45 plus years we sadly cant keep due to financial constraints. In modern memory to name just few, in particular order...... Bowler, Brett, Charlie and Vaughan poss Varney, Then there was Wes, Trev, Paul Stewart, Paul Groves, Dylan Kerr all names I just can rattle off from memory that mean lot to me but could not stya or had to go for various reasons
