I think an agreement has been reached between Mel Morris and Steve Gibson directlyIf Derby do pay Boro anything does that not constitute as an admission of guild, therefore opening further floodgates?
I think the agrmeement is that MM will address the Boro claim and not the new owner. MM has not accepted any liability and will fight the Boro claim through arbitration and the courts if necessary. Makes the way ahead clearer for any bidder for the club.I think an agreement has been reached between Mel Morris and Steve Gibson directly
And yet the only claim that had any validity was Wycombe's. Even then it should have been a claim against the EFL for not imposing the points penalty when they should have and not against Derby themselvesAnd Wycombe will just be deemed irrelevant as they are such a small club.
Yep.And yet the only claim that had any validity was Wycombe's. Even then it should have been a claim against the EFL for not imposing the points penalty when they should have and not against Derby themselves
Although the counter argument is that Wycombe should claim against the one that broke the rules rather than the one who sets the rules.
My understanding was that they did not file by the due date. If they had, the points deduction would have been last season. Wycombe were therefore affected in a very direct way.In this case, Derby did what was required of them by the EFL, which is to say filed the financial information by the date required, Wycombe were not directly affected by Derby's overspending in previous seasons, it's hard to see on what basis they have a claim.
Not only did they delay the accounts but they originally presented them incorrectly because they would have shown the were in breach of FFP regs. That was certainly an attempt by Derby to avoid a points deduction last season. Wycombe definitely have a case.My understanding was that they did not file by the due date. If they had, the points deduction would have been last season. Wycombe were therefore affected in a very direct way.
