Diana Ross at Glastonbury

Why can't actors, singers, show business people etc never know when to give up?
More so, why do people think they are still great, when they're clearly not?

After her performance at Glastonbury. I’ve heard a name changed is likely tonight, at Lytham…….., Diana Dross!

Singers don't retire themselves they get retired by people not paying to watch them. I went to a Dionne Warwick concert about ten years ago,
her voice still had the tone but she couldn't hit various notes, it was like listening to a Steinway piano with some of the notes missing. She was in her early 70s then and she played all her biggest hits of which there were many, there were no backing singers just her as a single voice. I was surprised to see that she is back on tour again this year, now in her 80s. I definitely wouldn't see her again, but there are plenty that will. They treat the performance as a sing-along.

The problem is that these 'Stars' never know when to stop.
Of course it's the idiots who pay to watch them who are at fault.
Only thing is that an empty theatre ;might have some effect. 😉 '

I watched McCartney on catch up. I thought he did a really good set - he pitched it right. I was expecting it to be embarrassing because he hasn't got the voice these days. However, his drummer complemented Macca's voice well and the range of songs was good. Mind you, I sometimes had to shake my head in disbelief that I was watching an 80 year old man strutting his stuff.

good for a 80 year old. That cannot be disputed.
