Didn't realise Luton had gone one better than us!

Several clubs have dropped to 4th tier and returned.
Great achievement for Luton and will take a long time to match

Swansea,Sheffield United, Bolton Wolves for starters.

Yes from the 4th tier. Luton have gone from the 5th tier all the way up (without being relegated in-between) and that has never been done before.

Luton did it faster than us. It took us 10 seasons to go from league 2 to the Prem, and they've done it in 6 seasons. Incredible achievement really, and what it shows is that things can change very quickly in football if you make good recruitment decisions.
And employ a good manager who has potential to get better too. If we had acted more decisively over Appleton, Edwards could well have been the man.

We were the first of the ,' small ' clubs to get to the Prem . Olly said attack attack attack...because we couldn't defend and one of the most exciting Blackpool seasons ever.
I remember each Saturday felt like , and sort of was , a cup final. It was great but totally exhausting

Swindon?

Maybe Swindon - but on the other hand think of all the teams who have eventually got to the promised land and barely left a mark on it - Cardiff for one immediately come to mind.

Hull and Bradford both got to the pl before us and as such were and aren't big clubs.
In addition, Oldham were there in the first season who have never been 'big' and not quite on topic but interestingly Notts County and Luton just missed out on being founder members by a season.

All have since dropped to non league for a period and Oldham remain there.

I actually think they'll do OK, but still drop. They are well organised and understand the type of player they want to fit into their squad. It's similar - in ethos rather than style - to the old Wimbledon - who continually got results against sides who really didn't fancy - or couldn't cope - with the opposition. At Kenilworth road, there'll be teams who Luton can get at, with the emphasis on a high tempo and physicality. Hope that doesn't sound like I'm patronising their football ability as it's not meant to. They have good players who have earned this chance and will be looking to make a big name for themselves.

Luton haven't done it solely by playoffs, so we maintain some kind of record.
Yes indeed. Pool were the first team to go from Tier 4 ( League Two) to Tier 1 (The Premiership) via the playoffs each time so they will always have that record which obviously cannot be taken away from them.

I'd be surprised if they get 30 points.

Crap ground and they will be lucky to get 25 pts. Everton fans must be smiling that there is a team far far worse than them.
