Digital eTicket - thanks but no

I would have, as I use Android Pay often but Blackpool FC IT is as good as it was with season ticket renewal - USELESS (See attached image)
Really if they want to go this way they need to beta test this time and again because it seems pretty obvious the testing they do is not showing errors up.View attachment 12782
Just tried mine again and it worked (using the G Pay link in the original email).

You don’t half talk rubbish.

I suggest you look up the word ‘trying’ and stop misquoting me.
You’re extremely ‘trying’ I’ll give you that.

I haven’t misquoted you…

Firstly, your poorly constructed sentence (in your post that I first quoted) doesn’t actually say what you claim it says.

Secondly it doesn’t matter either way… They are neither ‘getting rid of seadon ticket cards’ as you stated or ‘trying to get rid of season ticket cards’ as you subsequently backpedaled towards.

They’re simply introducing an alternative option for people to use if they want to.

Stop being a Dick 👍

As far as I can see, moving to digital tickets on smartphones rather than an ST card has the ulterior motive of stopping people, when they cannot attend, lending out their ST card to a friend. Most smartphones are protected by fingerprint or face recognition so you can’t lend out your phone, and most would not want to.

So maximising club revenue. That’s not to say that is wrong as the non-transferable ST is part of the terms and conditions of sale, never mind how many bend the rules currently. So a digital ST on your phone might be optional at the moment but in the future? However there are some difficulties that may be insurmountable... for example, some don’t own a smartphone. What happens if your phone battery runs out as you approach the turnstile?

Apparently you will be charged extra for season cards in the future.

An important distinction here…..

They ARE trying to move to a digital system otherwise why would they bother investing in it, and secondly you can currently have a season card - but that MAY not last forever.

Pedantic perhaps, but it’s an important distinction 👍
That would annoy me. Older people should still be welcome at Bloomers and it's older people who are less committed to change. If they're going to do it I would say that over 65s should be exempt from any charge to hold a card.

You can just send someone a photo of your digital ticket, so it’s probably easier to share it I’d have thought.

It’s certainly dead easy to share airline or rail tickets.

He’s talking out of his arse 1966….

Can you? Would it not be easy to put in security software that would prevent that?
But I am probably being overly cynical as to the club’s motives. Perhaps they really are trying to improve convenience of use.

Pedantic as ever while spouting rubbish.

Anyway, nobody could accuse you of being a dick - as a dick is useful 👍

It’s a barcode scan as far as I know. So I’m not sure what software could prevent it being shared ?

Seems like a ridiculously convoluted and expensive way to cut out what o imagine is a very small and insignificant ‘issue’

‘Useful’ as in correcting ‘Useless’ and inaccurate information?

Fair enough 👍

A simple ‘sorry I didn’t mean to misinform anyone’ would have sufficed… but it seems your ego isn’t capable of such a ‘hefty’ climb down. 😂

What you on about - I said ‘trying’ not definitely.

So I have no need to climb down.

As I’ve said…

Firstly you didn’t say trying…

Secondly, eve of you meant ‘trying’ …they aren’t doing that either…

They ARE however trying to introduce a digital option for people to use on their phones.

You’ve already alarmed a number of posters on here with the misinformation. We have a lot of older supporters who do not have access to digital technology and may be concerned or worried.

So to be clear the Club isn’t ‘trying’ to do anything of the sort 👍

Anyone can go back thorough this thread and see I said trying 👍

While you spout your drivel as ever.

Yes you are.

The club are trying to move to a digital system based on smart phones and getting rid of season cards - and loads of people are being invited to join and it is not working!

It’s not been tested properly again.

Does that now make sense???
Just to make it easy for everyone 👍

That is a two part sentence…

You say two things…

Firstly you say that they are “trying to move to a digital system”

Secondly you say “and getting rid of season ticket cards”

As I keep ‘trying’ to explain… And as the Club has made absolute clear in their ‘Official Announcement’

The Club is trying to introduce a Digital Ticket Option for supporters and they are maintaining (not getting rid of OR ‘trying’ to get rid of) the card tickets. That is just stuff that you have made up.

I’ve had a more detailed look and it looks like the digital ticket uses technology more akin to contactless (as opposed to barcode scan) so it probably would be possible to restrict use on that basis.

Stop trying to deflect from the obvious rubbish you have written.

I said ‘trying’ and you said I didn’t.

It’s plain and clear for all to see.

I have no doubt you will continue on here as the last word means more to you than life itself - at this point I am out of here as you cannot reason with you even when it’s obvious to all.

So carry on BFC x 3, pop into an empty room and start an argument with your pedantic little self 😂👍

Enjoy, it’s going to be like masturbation for you as I have left the room - you get the pleasure and satisfaction for a few minutes - then realise you are on your own 👍👍 as nobody else on here can reasonably argue I didn’t say trying when it’s obvious I did.

Enjoy your self pleasure moment 😉

Then so be it.......next it will be a cashless society........

George Orwell has it right......control of the masses......one way or another.
Cash is king twice in the last week ,the card readers in my local Spoons failed for the full day and with no bank in the area everyone was just walking out ,they must have lost hundreds.

I'm writing to the club to insist on a book of tear off tickets. Worked fine for years and I insist they bring it back.

My season ticket in my Samsung android wallet keeps expiring . I delete it, then reinstall it , it's there for a while then off it goes again . Useless .

For Android or Apple Pay (NFC technology) to work you need either a strong 4G or wifi connection at the gate.
No chance currently with O2 for sure (not sure about other carriers). I have zero data when I’m at the ground or even in the car parks.

My company deploys this technology and have locations with over a million users. We often have to deploy a local locked down wifi connection due to poor mobile data access
That’s wrong. You don’t need any internet connection for those technologies. You can use Apple Pay for example in airplane mode. The transmission of data comes from the terminal your tapping against. In the same way that a contactless card doesn’t have a 4g connection.

Books of tickets lobbed onto the pitch in disgust; a lost art. Last seen comically at Ewood Park in our Prem season, I think.

It's nothing to do with pictures. It's about NFC and you can't take a photo of NFC.

Yes, thanks for clarifying…👍

I have already noted that myself above to be fair and then someone else pointed it out 😂

Interestingly though, Liverpool (who operate a similar system) do facilitate the temporary allocation of Season Tickets to other individuals. It seems pretty straightforward online request and then a ticket would be issued to your mate’s (or whoever’s) phone.

There doesn’t appear to be a charge or any limitation on sharing a Season Ticket there, so no reason to think Blackpool would go down that road 👍

Lovely stuff. I think that's a very good move if they do it as sharing a season ticket digitally would make it easier for me than doing it physically as I'm not living in Blackpool.

I'm sorry for correcting you without doing the full thread especially as you are so reserved when it comes to correcting or challenging others 🤣😉

Have a good un'

Don't be sorry... I don't wish to live in the dark 👍

My lad forwarded me his email, I clicked on the link, and it downloaded his ticket to my wallet - so I've now got two.

Seems a straightforward sharing process -
