Digital programmes ? No thanks BFC

Yes Rossendale you can still buy a paper programme at the moment but for how much longer is my worry.
Several clubs are no longer issuing paper programmes and it's only a matter of time before other clubs do sadly.

I have purchased the season subscription to the programme on the phone app that the BFC site linked to, a saving of £10.01 on purchasing the print version, a saving of £8.98 on the digital app. A decent offer in my opinion.

hardly any do them in Rugby league. Leigh, Wigan, Leeds, Swinton, Rochdale, North Wales and my team, Barrow are the only clubs that do them. Football will go the same way.

I disliked trying to "read" the digital programme which came with the season ticket last season
Given that I very regularly cannot access the internet on a matchday and my phone is a 4G I doubt I will be able to "view" the programme then either.
Give me paper programmes any day.
What was the point of this post??? They produce digital and print versions. I literally don’t get the problem????

How many programmes did you see on sale? I only saw two sellers outside the ground and one was packing up as there were no programmes left. I presume the shop had some but if you were not at the ground by 2.15 you probably won't get one.
They don't print enough. They are clearly trying to persuade you to get the digital version.
There were young children there today for probably their 1st game but could not get a physical programme as a souvenir.

Hi mate I’m probably being a bit stupid but I can not find it. Any chance you can share a link to this?

Whether paper or digital, the club appear to have given up on programmes. 40 pages basically full of adverts.

The quality of programmes have gone down. I got a Wigan one last season. Full 3 quid on cover. Paper. Hardly anything in it. I want them to carry on. But more effort is needed. Ours not brilliant either.

Agreed this season's effort is nothing short of woeful ,smacks of switching to a digital version only very soon.......sadly

Read it when you get home!!! Why would you read a programme while watching the game 😯

My wife will be delighted when programmes are digital only .. we have 30 years worth just lying their in the loft which I say 'I'll sort out one day'!!
Me too..
and even longer...back to the sixties..used to buy them religiously but no more but not knocking those who want to.
When I pop my clogs the wife will probably put them all in the blue bin, assuming she can get them down from the loft.

Digital no good you cannot write in the team changes or final score in pen or stick a bogey on the back page.😜

Nice to have a paper copy I’ve got some that I keep in order of games played, late seventies, early 80s I have every one for full seasons in some years, granted I don’t look at them much but like old photos of family etc it’s nice to get them out on the odd occasions to reminisce, the premiership ones are interesting to see the teams we put out etc & I have some pne friends who like to get out there programmes from when they played in the top league as well, although their ones are worth a lot more money due to them being antiques

Match day programmes are nearly obsolete- with the amount of online content from the club and other social media, anything printed is out of date by the time you buy it. They used to be nice as a souvenir but as people say,
A word from the manager, team line ups and a ton of adverts really isn’t worth the spend.

The problem with programmes these days is 'what is there left to say?'. It's just a load of rehashed articles and interviews from the clubs website. Why I'm looking forward to @BlackpoolJane bringing back the Fanzine.

The Squires Gate match programme is a brilliant read if you can get your hands on one. Loads of interesting general football stuff.

Sounds like I best get cracking with the zine…

Quite agree Jane. Best non league programme I've ever seen and way better than many league ones including Blackpoos as is a very poor programme at the minute. It hasn't even updated the honours" list on page 3 with our play off win !!!

Buy a paper one then…

We are being forced to accept all this digital rubbish, I can't remember when I last purchased a decent publication of any kind, perhaps 'When Saturday Comes' a couple of years ago.

It is possible to make a match day programme more than just a rehash of the online content.
Manchester City’s programme is absolutely brilliant but then they have a huge media department. We have 2 people with limited time.
