Digital Tickets Update šŸ˜µā€šŸ’«

Did I read that right? Even if youā€™ve opted (and paid) for a physical card youā€™ve been sent a link for a digital one so presumably canā€™t use a plastic card? Or can you use either?

Thatā€™s a very confusing announcement. Why would you need the digital pass if you have bought the plastic card? Unless you want to transfer to someone else digitally? But you could just loan them the card? This has not been thought through, with proper guidance, has it?

Would make more sense if it had said, ā€˜If you have not opted (and paid) for a physical card you will have received an e mail with linkā€¦ā€¦ need to download and put in wallet etcā€™. The way it is worded is not helpful imo.
My understanding is that if you have a physical card and have received a digital ticket either one can be used but the other will then be de-activated for that match.

Digital champions šŸ˜³
Sounds like the kind of shite that we do at work in our corporate world. Guy in front of me on Sat refused to go and see the digital champion as he knew he might end up at the back or getting sent to the ticket office, fair play he got it working 30 secs later !

I thought the physical card was for people without either a smart phone or the knowledge how to use one. This sounds like newspeak out of 1984.šŸ¤£

My friend has a card but hasn't had an email . But then again he doesn't have any Internet.
As an aside, did anyone receive the notification as we approached the turnstiles . I certainly didn't.

The club hasn't resolved the issues with my digital ticket yet.
So my just grab the digital champion whilst I'm in the Q and take him with me to the turnstile.

Perhaps we should replace supporters with AI ones? No moaning and no incompetence!
I think this is what the club wants and are aiming for.

This technology is used at most football clubs throughout the country. I wonder if there is the same complaining up and down the land? There is really nothing difficult about it.
Some people just like to moan. Itā€™s the usual posters on here. Thereā€™s nothing difficult about it at all and if someone is unsure, ask!! Thereā€™s usually someone who will help.

Youā€™re right. I do like a good moan.

So answer me this one.

If an exile leaves home at 5am and at 3pm he/she finds the battery on his/her phone has run out. What does he/she do?

Plug it into one of the many charging points that exist! Stop looking for problems!
Do they have those in the Cask and Tap or Yorkshire Fisheries?

If not youā€™re telling me, not only do I have to make a 400 mile round journey, I also have to take time out to find a charging point and then stand next to it for 30 minutes so no one nicks my phone (and season ticket).

How old are you? It isnā€™t difficult. My battery lasts a long time depending on the use. You can charge in your car, public areas etc. Do you live in the real world or do you just like being argumentative?
I live in the real world. Which is how I know how crap IT can be when it goes wrong.

I also like to be argumentative.

Makes sure to keep their phone charged. Spends Ā£1 on a spare charger cable. Spends Ā£5 on a battery pack. Used a modicum of common sense. Any of the above. People need to take some personal responsibility. They know they need the digital app. So just make sure you have the means to show it.

If you come by car then you charge in the car. If not then it's a power bank and or bring a charger and find somewhere.

The point of the physical card @ Ā£20 was so you didnā€™t need the digital app, what happened? It wasnā€™t made clear by the club, before purchase, that was the case. I didnā€™t purchase a plastic card, but if I had I would be very miffed.

Itā€™s clearly giving you the option of either/or. If you donā€™t have a digital wallet or donā€™t want to use one then simply donā€™t and use the card you spent Ā£20 for. If you forget the card or lose it though, then downloading the digital pass if you can is a smart move.

Moaning for moanings sake is all this is. Although I do think the comms could be clearer to account for the lack of common sense

As I said, I didnā€™t buy one so Iā€™m not moaning, this time.šŸ˜ I just donā€™t think it was fully explained, not a lack of common sense. Pre first sales the club said anyone wanting a plastic card for Ā£20 could have one. It didnā€™t say that was as well as a digital one.

Everyone gets a season ticket thatā€™s digital - thatā€™s the default season ticket now. The plastic card *is* the optional extra.

God knows what itā€™ll be like in 2030 if many of the current AVFTT lot are still around when banks stop giving out bank cards unless you pay a fee to use them and cash is almost completely phased out.

If Iā€™m still around in 2030 Iā€™ll be 90, so I wonā€™t give a monkeys.šŸ¤£

Well fortunately youā€™re already using a digital pass so I reckon youā€™ll be alright buying your Champions League final programme with your phone too !

At 90 youā€™ll just need a thicker lense in the reading glasses šŸ˜…
