Do we hate Fleetwood Town?

Preston get battered - everywhere they go!
We all know that!

But how is the general consensus here about Fleetwood Town?
Do we see them as an enemy, og just a lower local team hitting above their weights?
Not long ago they were above us in the pyramide, but do we want them down to L2, og to stay in L1?

Same thing about Morecambe?
I have to say they impress me!

I would say...Pity more than hate.....
The highlight and only claim to fame for Fleetwood Town is that Jamie Vardy & Alfie Boe have both played there..........................End of

i don’t give them much thought - we all know who our main rivals are although having said that, that varies by age generally;

For me; preston and bolton
younger,
usually go for; preston and burnley

do i want them to go down (Cods), yes.

I hated them when they were above us in the league, their budget was bigger than ours and training at a fantastic facility, also actively trying to tap into our fan base to grow their club. Thankfully apart from a few lost sheep, football fans remain loyal to their football club for life. Now I think the Cods have reached their ceiling, can't buy their way out of league one and very little chance of growing attendances or as a football club in general I think of them very little and focus my attention on our real and just rival the Nobbers.

I don’t hate them. Never been fond of them, would always have a minor chuckle if they lost; they are a local rival even if not a big one, but now Crainey is in charge, I’m disappointed if they lose. If they appoint … I wanted to say a PNE legend but I can’t think of any … I’ll go back to chuckling.

They've gone from averaging 200 to 3,000 in 15 years, if they weren't supported by sugar daddy Pilley and were still level 9 or 10 of the football pyramid, where would some of those extra 2,800 be going to watch their football?

Bloomfield Road is my bet.

So yes, that is why I hate Fleetwood & KFC Kirkham as both clubs have taken fans who could be going to BR instead of those two vanity clubs.
No they wouldn't. They would back sat in their livingrooms supporting Manu or Liverpool.

I find it quite offensive this post considering I'm Blackpool fan but live and raised in Fleetwood...

No more interested in them than any other club. Purely Blackpool for me.

So, we have a thread about the latest Club Statement apropos of youths behaving aggressively in the North Stand. Now you want a thread about who we are supposed to "hate" or treat as the "enemy." Please miss, can I hate Fleetwood this week miss, I've been really good at hating Preston and now I'd like another challenge?

What a load of nonsense.

So Allez comes on here making unfounded claims that Fleetwood tried to poach some of our supporters and a few actually went.
Therefore Allez, they cannot be regarded as supporters and the only blame (and shame) is on those who went. If indeed any have gone.
And then we get Alfie Conn jumping on the bandwagon and agreeing with Allez.
As we all know Alfie is ITK and he is a family friend of the new assistant so perhaps he could name and shame a few who have made the switch to Fleetwood.

Which part do you find offensive?

Would you be supporting Blackpool, if Fleetwood were the size of club they are now when you were a kid?
Stupid question. I've supported Blackpool my whole life even when we was nearly extinct in the 80s. You have no right to try and question someone from Fleetwood who we support just as you don't from anyone in Blackpool....

It's not stupid, if you were a kid now and Blackpool and Fleetwood were in the same division, with you being Fleetwood born and bred, you'd be a codhead, and you know it.

There's no need to get upset by it.
I was born in Blackpool raised in Fleetwood.

If my mother had a penis I wouldn't born...

I imagine we picked up a good number of fair weather fans in our prem year. Some would have been the North side of blackpool and no doubt gravitated towards Fleetwood for convenience and hope of new glory.... Some likewise went to Fylde (e.g. the ex season ticket holder who sat next to us in the North stand who I bumbed into a couple of years ago). Each to their own, and if not a true fan not really bothered.

I just know that I was never tempted to go elsewhere during the dark times. Not claiming to be a "true supporter", just stating the reality that there is only one club in my heart.

My mum was born and brought up in Fleetwood and I spent many happy times in Fleetwood at my Gran's house in the late 60s and early 70s. Like Blackpool, the town has suffered decline over the last 40 years. Always had a soft spot for Fleetwood Town because of this and the fact that they have punched above their weight in the same way we did in the PL.

Mildly irritating when we were in the same division. Like a little stone in your shoe or a tag you forgot to remove from a t-shirt.

But now, the stone is gone. The tag has been cut out. Why would you think of the stone or the tag anymore?

I'd like Morecambe to survive but can't be bothered about Fleetwood.
Morecambe has a bit of potential when you consider Lancaster AND Morecambe as one place. That's quite a lot of people and quite far from Preston, Blackpool, Barrow etc.

Fleetwood, I'm just not seeing how they go long term. I have no ill will towards them. I've lived there and god knows it needs something for people to latch on to.

It's possible, maybe, to survive like Accy have in the shadows of bigger clubs but it's very hard to see growth and where they go next now Pilley is reigning it in. Accy have really learned how to make every penny count but Fleetwood are built on largesse to some degree.

Err…no….AS for Allez…what exactly is his problem.
….nor by the way do I love them…they are just another football club with whom we have no real history….……now Bolton that as they say is another kettle of fish.
…yes I did intend that😉😉

Since I moved away in 2003 I still see them as a non entity , can't imagine getting too riled up over anything they do. Used to roll eggs down the mount on Easter, the big boating pool, the pier with the dodgy "Tom Hanks in "Big" olde-timey arcade machines. Good memories of the place

Here he is, defending Fleetwood's corner as per usual, it's SuperJaffa in his Fleetwood Town underpants.
If you seriously think for one minute supporters of Fleetwood and Fylde would be all watching Blackpool now had they not had recent success over the last few years then you’re more deluded than I first thought.

On a par with Comical Allez I’d actually say.

Anyway I’am off now watching another team of mine “Come on you Reds”

Said it every time these type of threads appear, I don't hate any football cubs, what's the point & most of the supporters are just like me. Friendly rivalry yes, banter yes.

@LeeBFC was replying to my post and said he found it offensive, I never mentioned the word enemy.

Anyway, so calling a local team the enemy is now, in some peoples eyes, offensive. 🤣

Are there any other hurty words you don't like football fans using?
Dollar, I replied to yours straight after returning to the thread. For no proper reason I thought you were replying to me - hence the way I replied. After looking down the thread and realising that you were replying to Lee, I deleted my post.
Apologies for the misunderstanding.

No, Last time we played them I went with a pal who supports them, few beers and met up after the game. I certainly don’t dislike Morecambe either. I think my dislike was more towards Joey Barton than Fleetwood FC.

Who cares….
I Do find the pilley propping them up which is often mentioned a odd pov…yeah he is, but most football teams are propped up by wealthy owners…where would bfc be without SS and his cash?

Wasn’t fleetwoods number one fan knappers once a Seasider? Im sure they’ll be plenty just like him who once went to Bloomfield road.
