Does McCarthy know his best team

There are times when you feel like ‘spitting feathers’ and blaming someone.
Tonight was not one of them.
In fact, we play better with 10 men.
For me, the ten men/subs threw everything at them. MM threw every player he could think of into it. He fired every bullet he could find.
It’s not over! Our luck must turn.
 
It's not about that though is it. He plays one way so in his eyes Bowler, Poveda, Rogers won't play Mick ball so they don't play. Next game hell prob just revert back to type even after the 2nd half being so much better. Said it before but there's a reason football retired him.

It's not luck.

We have consistently played players out of position and in stupid formations all season.

We are where we are because of performances.
 
CJ has been poor last few games however we're not playing to anyone strengths.

CJ can be used against tired legs and the odd start, not a regular to keep out Rogers to this level though.

So why does McCarthy stick with him and keep starting with him?

Also against Wigan with 10 men when Appleton made no changes....

It shows now that when changes are made, 10 men or not you can still have a right go.

Appleton had CJ on the bench and 10 men running on empty, CJ despite his flaws was perfect to come on in that game and close their players down who were crossing it.

Also to latch onto any long ball over the top.

Yet he didn't do it and we lost from a cross.

Far too lightweight for me gets pushed off the ball far too easily.

Can’t cross a ball can’t tackle doesn’t know when he’s offside but yer he’s fast. 🙄

That said he’s not to weakest in the side a good few others will give him a run for their money.

Yep, but he has still be useful at times and can still be, but not a consistent starter.
 
It's not so just his best team he doesn't know, it's how to set them up. We simply don't have the players to play backs to the wall football. He really does need to just play our most technically gifted players in front of a back 4 with 2 holding midfielders. As we no longer have 2 fit holding midfielders, Dougall and Carey pick themselves.

Yes. They’re all that’s left. Get to bloomers on Saturday and back ‘em!!!!
