Dom Thompson - MOM

He's certainly establishing himself as a character. His Dad was a discus thrower, his throw ins are fairly unique in style. hopefully not based on his Dad's technique.
Whilst he's still developing and I particularly like his speed of thought in his quick passing.
Of course backing him up we've got solid reliable Hubby who perhaps wouldn't have let that Swansea player get away at the end.
I just wonder when we finally say goodbye to Bowler could we play Dom ahead of Bowler (after all Rob Apter's never going to get a chance 😉)

We lose 1-0 and in a tight game the goal was totally his faulr. Doesn't matter how well you did before or after we lost becaise of his mistake. nd fcuk me, it was like he was treading in treacle trying to catch up with the guy. Great pace? Yeah right.

Goal wasn't anyone's fault we got caught on the break. Even if he did make a mistake, Dom Thompson wasn't anywhere near the reason we lost today.

Where we went wrong was having no quality in the final third and Yates missing a penalty.

Read the room or comment sections, you don't have a clue.

He was massively at fault for the goal, atrocious decision to lunge in when he was the last man.

So no, definitely not man of the match.

he made a mistake? Of course it was a mistake! And yep it was a shiite penalty but even though he missed we still had a point,

what the fuck does that even mean? Are you on drugs?
Ahh, maybe it wasn't simple enough.

I said read the room, this means look at other people's reactions and let it help you question your own opinion.

I figured as it was you and I know you struggle with literature I'd go further to say "read the comment section" but sadly it passed over your head again.

Remind me again, is it Patino or Thompson on loan from Arsenal? They look so similar...

Remind me again was it Thompson or Patino who cost us the goal today. A player who cost us a point who was clearly at fault and you want to give him mom. Along with just a few others out of a 11,000 crowd.

We have some strange fans. Thompson lost us a point and no way was he man of the match.

What a player. Very unlucky to be let go from Brentford.

Totally confirming Husband & Garbutt are L1 left backs.
Still waiting for you to tell us why he was unlucky to be let go by Brentford. Just perhaps they thought he wasn't good enough for the PL. But hey your mates with a kid who sometimes trains with the first team squad and you believe all the guff he tells you.

He was definitely one of our better performers today and is a great addition to the squad.
I can see him quickly becoming a fans favourite.

i hope he does too. The whole back four did reasonably well today. After all just like kast season we restricted them to very few chances. But like it or not one horrendous mistake cost us a point today. And that mistake was made by Thompson. He will know that himself too.

I think he looks quality in the main, when you compare to what we had, he's decisive and pretty solid.

Can't really remember exactly how the mistake happened but it was costly., but he'd barely put a foot wrong before that.

Looks good for the future though with him signing permanently.

I've got you on strings Togo 😂, length of that reply.

He was on the bench for Brentford every week last season? He was unlucky as they brought in a multi million pound LB this season and if he had a chance he might of broke through. Suppose he was at Arsenal for all those years because he's shit though...

I really hope your mental health is okay.

The mistake was Yates taking the pen.

Was my MOTM too. His passing and link up play with Lavery was excellent in the second half. As a player he’s only going to get better and I’m really looking forward to seeing us playing with both Thompson and Gabriel at WB. Will certainly give opposition players plenty to think about.
Worth noting he’s a young inexperienced player so maybe not sything down the Swansea player and taking the Red was that inexperience coming through. I’m sure he’ll learn from that.
If your complaint against a player is them not getting themselves sent off then you need to give your head a bit of a wobble. You’re asking them to do something very unnatural and that should go against all their instincts.

Thompson was superb.

So Thompson plays well and it confirms that Husband is shit.

That's a take and a half.

I'm used to people blaming Jimmy when he's played but blaming him when he hasn't is taking is next level.

I like Thompson for what it's worth but Jimmy can a) take a throw in and b) he'd definitely have scythed that player down.

Why do people have to play one player off against another all the time?

He likes to make things up that's for sure.

It's not though is it, DT has highlighted what a championship LB is.

Hubby was a liability last year, it's a comparison. Stop crying.

Nobody agreeing with anything you've said... Yet we're the idiots. OK.

Didn’t see the game but very weird attempt at a challenge for the goal. Looked like he tried to rugby tackle him and changed his mind and ended up doing nothing!

Was that not Patino chasing the last man?

Following Dougall’s tired attempt at a ball back into the box which was easily charged down Swansea broke. Thompson caught in about several minds ended up doing nothing - a leg out or arm out & the Swansea striker is down & end of move. After watching the replay several times now Im fairly confident he might have got away with a yellow too.

Up until that point Thompson was prob the pick of the outfield players. Marvin then gets MOTM for the tackle/block out of nowhere.
