So, if he can eradicate one problem per week in training, by the time he reaches his 52nd birthday, there'll be absolutely nothing for us to worry about ... And, if that's not giving him a chance, I don't know what is.He's still developing. His mistakes should get fewer as he gets older / has more experience.
Let's give him a chance.
Faster than CJ ? Is that why last time in league one the opposition targeted him at full back with the diagonal ball over the top, caught him out all season.Hubby lacks pace ?
He’s probably the quickest player in the team
He’s faster than CJ or he was a couple of seasons ago
Lost his crown for being the quickest player in the squad when Uncle Richard arrived.Hes got pace to burn that lad seriously

We started that season with a lot of flaws, but coinciding with the arrival of Colin Calderwood we gradually ironed out the problems and finished the best team in the league. They couldn’t have caught him out that much we got promoted
Should be taking the throw ins then!!His dad and brother were discus throwers.
He'd get penalised for foul throw every time.Should be taking the throw ins then!!
Having seen him today I can confirm we’ve had a good old search and sadly that good player is not in there .. sorry to disappoint!I think there's a good player in there somewhere.
It's that spinning round before launching it that causes issues. He'd get penalised for foul throw every time.
I always love the blind optimism of fans who are confident every player will come good but as we've seen over the years, not all of them do or ever will and sadly I do believe that is the case with Thompson - he reminds me of Charles Dunne.Having seen him today I can confirm we’ve had a good old search and sadly that good player is not in there .. sorry to disappoint!

He played no better or worse than anyone else yesterday and by all accounts was MOTM in the friendly the other week. I don't get this clamour to (unfairly imo) ruin the young lad who clearly gives his all - to gain a few internet points amongst fellow internet chumps. It's pathetic.I always love the blind optimism of fans who are confident every player will come good but as we've seen over the years, not all of them do or ever will and sadly I do believe that is the case with Thompson - he reminds me of Charles Dunne.
In fairness, Dunne is still in the Scottish Prem and has been since 2017. He was absolutely shocking for us though.I always love the blind optimism of fans who are confident every player will come good but as we've seen over the years, not all of them do or ever will and sadly I do believe that is the case with Thompson - he reminds me of Charles Dunne.
He was our worst player on the pitch by quite a distanceHe played no better or worse than anyone else yesterday and by all accounts was MOTM in the friendly the other week. It was a friendly. No need whatsoever for anyone to jump on anyone's back after what was a glorified kickabout. I disagree btw and did go.He was our worst player on the pitch by quite a distance
I'm athletic, have a decent throw on me and always put in 100% for my Sunday League team. I was still absolutely shite at footballIf he gets his chance I think he’ll surprise us, he’s athletic, can actually throw a ball and puts a shift in. Critchley should sort the rest out, that’s his job.
IMO he is already good enough for most league 1 teams and has that energy to keep going for the full 90 plus minutes. And a plus point is that as well as his speed he really can leap like a salmon. I'm happy to see him as a starter at left back and Lyons at right back both bombing forward when they get the chance. Every player can improve a little and hopefully with critchley n co they will. UTMP!!!I think there's a good player in there somewhere.
Working with Critch on his distribution and cutting out silly mistakes, he could become a real "diamond".
He's young, speedy and energetic.
I'm interested to see how he is in 6 months.
Yeah, I think both him and Lyons would be better as wing backs in a 5-3-2.IMO he is already good enough for most league 1 teams and has that energy to keep going for the full 90 plus minutes. when was thatTelling the fans to shut the fuck up at one point won’t help his cause…
If I were doing my best at work and a bunch of nobheads were giving me verbals telling me I’m shit at it I’d say the same thing.Telling the fans to shut the fuck up at one point won’t help his cause…
Is it just me or does DT look like a pixar character?Belated but good Andy Bayes interview with the Domster...
His championship quality definitely showing tonight! Headlocking a player in a friendly, giving away a free kick which they subsequently score from. I've heard championship clubs are scrambling for his signatureHes a great player and will be a huge asset for us this season. Deffo Championship quality IMO.
Sell him he's absolute pony. Liability last year and will be againHis championship quality definitely showing tonight! Headlocking a player in a friendly, giving away a free kick which they subsequently score from. I've heard championship clubs are scrambling for his signature
Husband played well tonight. DT less so but worth persisting with. Ridiculous post.Husband shite. Him and Thompson together is like pointing a giant arrow at our left hand side saying ‘attack this way’
Didn’t play a decent ball forward all night. Lost count of how many times he gave it away. On Thompson, I think there’s a player in there but he needs better than Husband beside him. Ridiculous post.Husband played well tonight. DT less so but worth persisting with. Ridiculous post.
Rubbish. Will be happy to see Husband, rightly, on the left of the back 3 come Burton.Didn’t play a decent ball forward all night. Lost count of how many times he gave it away. On Thompson, I think there’s a player in there but he needs better than Husband beside him. Ridiculous post.
You’re entitled to your opinion. Watch his passing next time. Also won’t win a thing in the air. Don’t be blind.Rubbish. Will be happy to see Husband, rightly, on the left of the back 3 come Burton.
yeah. He was clocked as being faster than CJ. I remember being surprised at the time.Faster than CJ ? Is that why last time in league one the opposition targeted him at full back with the diagonal ball over the top, caught him out all season.
Was that when CJ was injured and on crutches?yeah. He was clocked as being faster than CJ. I remember being surprised at the time.
