Pleased to announce we will be conducting an interview with former BFC player Eamonn OKeefe upstairs in the Billy Ayre Lounge tomorrow @ 1:00 pm

Eammon scored 23 goals in just 36 appearances for the Pool and was a great ally during the Oyston Out campaign.

Hope some of you seasiders can make it 👍🍊 - UTP - 🧡

Great Player, made Paul Stewart look fantastic —remember an Easter win at Hartlepools and O‘Keefe was superb — we won easy

He also joined us on the paddock at a York City end of season night match, when injured as he liked to chat with the fans — we got hammered as expected 3/4—0 — I think akeith Walwyn was playing for them

He told us a lot he shouldn’t have too

No Qblock..afraid not….I was stood in the South paddock right behind the net as the rocket flew in….mental scenes.
I was in the South Stand and can just about remember it, especially the crowds reaction.
Did the club not used to do a season highlights video by that stage?

Sadly the filming of all games only came about a couple of seasons later so not sure it was ever captured.

What a signing he was. Obviously a talent playing way beneath his true ability level and how grateful were we all to be able to see such a goal machine.... for a transfer fee of just £17,500 as well.

Had a good chat with him in the car park after he came along to the Terry McPhillips meet the fans do at the de Vere. What a great, humble bloke 👍

Bless you Eamonn, would love to have come tomorrow. Ive bloody tested positive.

West paddock for me that night too. He ran over right in front of us, someone jumped out and hugged him. One of "those" nights, can't beat it.

Eamon my first bfc hero. he shot us to promotion in fine style and then started the next season in red-hot form. so cruel what happened next.

had a great view of the chesterfield thunderbolt, sat in the west with my dad. it remains my favourite ever goal and, crucially, for my 12 and a half year old self, gave me the confidence that would be promoted. deep, lasting memories and emotions that are very vivid, even now.

i fell head over heels for bfc that season and Eamon played a massive part in that - he was a joy watch and an inspirational figure. for that, i'll always be grateful, as well as to him for standing with us during the boycott.

i can't make it tomorrow but please, i hope someone films it. i'm sure it will be a fully deserved, rousing reception for one of our own.

Thanks again Eamon, for everything. 👏 🍊🧡

Named my first son Eamonn after O'Keefe. Brilliant player. Such a pity he got injured and we could do with a finisher like him now
I know you did… my lame effort of a gag. I agree… often said that we never really replaced him! (O’Keefe, not your Eamonn)

If we signed him now, there would be posts saying what a waste of money, signing a permanent crock.

Yes remember that victory at The Baseball Ground - quality day out.

Great feedback on here folks - please come in tonight and give Eamonn a big cheer - your support appreciated …. a top player and a top bloke too …

Folks - just had a call Eammon isn’t going to be able to make tonight - sorry for late notice … 😞😞😞

We are trying to reschedule …. He’s stuck in traffic btw ….

Went to Derby in 85 stayed there weekend with Rams fans. There sports paper headline was O’ Keefe sinks Rams with 2 goals carried the paper round all the pubs quality striker for us.😀🍊
Me and my dad were in the home end for that match. Our train arrived late so we just headed in to the first turnstile we found at kick off time which ended up being the home end.

My dad had only just started to return to matches after a decade or more away so was from the pre-hooligan era when fans mixed.

When O'Keefe scored each goal, he was the only one in the whole main Derby stand shouting and celebrating! All the paddock below was turning around pointing and making threatening gestures at him as I tried to explain how times had changed and he wasn't meant to be so blatant in the home end!!!

Two penalties wasn't it?. I remember we started the 85/6 season very poorly so to beat the promotion favourites at their own ground was incredible.
