Pennington, Ekpiteta, Husband. Casey on the bench. Marv to keep his place whilst in good form. Assuming all available.
 
good question. Said it enough times but imo Marv is the best defender at the club. However, he was probably deservedly dropped because Critch wanted to play to his weakness not his strength. Since he got bavk in the team because of Caseys suspension he's played really well so for me deserves to keep his place. Casey had had a couple of poor games too. However what will Critch do? He seems to have avoided the subject of discussing Marv and how well he's played. Why? Have they had a falling out? Maybe tomorrow will tell us as to who he starts, subject to every other defender being available. If he drops Marv then do I see him being here next season? Maybe not and for me that would be very wrong.
 
Personally, I don't think Marv should lose his place however I think Critchley will say "it depends".....if Shrewsbury have a "big lad" upfront then it'll be Marv...if they've a quicker less physical striker it'll be Casey.
 
I think you pick Marv ahead of Casey. There is a question then whether you play Casey or Pennington. If Jordan Gabriel comes in at RWB then I'd go with Casey otherwise it is a toss up for me between Pennington/Casey.

Gabriel's had a few minutes in a nothing game, nowhere near ready.
 
I have gone both. I would play 442, with Husband, Casey, Ekpiteta and Pennington at the back. Norburn, Dougall, CJ and Gabriel in midfield and Rhodes and Dembele up front.
 
Both as bad as one another doesn’t really matter they’ve both got a needless error in them

Agreed he was head and shoulders above everyone else on the pitch but you can't rush him back after such a long time out. 30 minutes in the second half today and then think about the difficult trip next week.
 
Marv is one of the best defenders in the league. Marv all day free me. Casey last game was shocking giving away a penalty and getting sent off. Marv deserves to keep the shirt.
 
a difficult choice, argument could be made for both, but i do think we are overall a better defensive unit with Marv in there. If the midfield are making themselves available as they did today any issues over distribution are moot. Casey is also a very good defender, Husband is our most consistent player week in week out and dropping Pennington would be a difficult decision. Its a good problem to have.
 
Eki the better player atm and he has the legs to get back if he gets wrong side , Casey struggles when turned
