Energy Crisis/Andy Pilley

It's shameful that owners are allowed to loan football clubs without paying corporation tax on monies.
If it was out of their own pocket(money that the tax man has collected from) then no issue they can put in however many millions they want this is just a way of fiddling tax revenues.

How on earth are Fleetwood ever going to pay it back they can't so it can only go two ways AP keeps stumping up or they go out of business nothing in between.
Why is a loan from one company to another fiddling tax revenues? The recipient company pays no tax on the loan received and the lending company gets no tax relief on the amount loaned.

How does this affect his ownership if found guilty? Probably no impact, knowing the Football League
Money laundering is serious stuff, if he’s convicted he will face a custodial sentence. Curtains for his ownership of fleetw I would suggest.

So was Owen,Karl and co. At the end of the day, if found guilty he is just as bad as them. I see his groupies have gone missing on this thread. Have they chucked him. 😂

I reckon the beginning of the end for Fleetwood was the day that Simon Sadler bought Blackpool.
Their success and rise through the leagues coincided with our slump and boycott years and I think the two were very much related.
Now with SS in charge the only attractive show in town (on the Fylde coast) is us.
Fleetwood may well survive, but I think they are past their peak league standing and I can also see their support base slowly 'coming home' to Blackpool 👍

Andy Pilley self loaned Fleetwood 20+ million and they're near bottom of League One.

That's some achievement!

Serious quesrion
He owns Pool foot not Fleetwood town, is it worth speaking to his creditors if he loses the case and putting in a cheeky offer.
No real interest for anyone else to have that land as presume it is green belt
I think you have a good point here TS. If the court case rules against him and/or his company gets into difficulty because of the energy crisis then it may be a realistic proposition to buy Pool fort. And we don't even have to change the name 😀, we would just need a job lot of tangerine paint to transform it 👍

No.

I think the club wants to work with Blackpool Council on a facility, or that's the feeling, Poolfoot is a pain in the arse to get to, not in Blackpool obviously and we could do without hand me downs from failed clubs as a training ground, we're not Preston.

So why doesn't he put his own money in then?
He lends money from his company to a company who hasn't a cat in hells chance of ever paying the money back if I tried that stunt HMRC would have me over the coals.
£21 million in debt come on that's a ridiculous amount for a club the size of them

Don’t know Trevor Hemmings so not really interested mate. Andy has been a good friend to quite a few on here who have known him for years as a Blackpool fan and as a very generous person as well 👍🏼
That's irrelevant though, I know you want to defend your mate but others don't know him from Adam so taking the piss is fair game.

I'm sure Pilley can defend himself mind, usually through the courts these days.

Loans between connected companies happen all the time in the business world and HMRC don’t have a problem with it. If such a loan can’t be repaid it will be written off and the net effect is tax neutral.
I agree that the club is screwed if Pilley goes under and the level of debt would normally be unsustainable.

I think Mosser and Mac are spot on here.

Pilley has done a lot for Fleetwood and hasnt done much wrong where BFC is concerned as far as im aware.

Show some class. If you dont want to support him fair enough but at least respect what he's done and show some decorum.

Sorry I've no sympathy for energy providers at all . . . screw us for every last penny and pay share holders a fortune.

Now things are hard for them they come cap in hand . . . why can't their share holders bail them out?
Correct - should be nationalised and we should never get any where near this shambles

Well done Boris IDIOT

He was below the belt when he ‘worked’ for the Post Office
Yep, just had the email. Hopefully it's not a huge price hike as there are no options for switching at the moment.
It will be and think carefully how you want to vote at the next election

Country is a shambles

Restricted our following to 750 last time we played them. Petty action.

I've said for years that they are a rich man's plaything and unsustainable and have been told that's not the case.

Lets see how it goes.

Went through it in a thread a while back and not many if any suitable sites in the councils area.

Rumoured to be Garstang Road West technically in Poulton.

If they went down may be a few floaters return, having until last season a side, albeit small, but in the same league after people boycotted us, will have meant a few floaters stuck with them no doubt.

Even know one guy who used to work where I do, during the boycott went to Fleetwood and then never came back, always said you cant be much of a pool fan....

We should do all we can to capture new and even fans who may have drifted away. Were building a good brand so far with TTV and championship football, but it does take time and consistency.

Depends where on Garstang Road West, top half is Blackpool, VIDA definitely is.

Yeah, there's a big sign that says 'Wyre' 😉
It may not be there but thats not the central location they wanted, barring some lawsons area...

It'd still be good where rumored above, but not within Blackpool council area which they wanted it to be.

Hopefully find out soonish.

It's a ballache to get to if you're not in town as well, either piss about through Layton, past the Vic or take your chances with Garstang Rd.

If they put a few pitches somewhere else maybe they won't need something as big as people think. They wanted it to be for locals too so if they are maybe placed somewhere near Stanley Park but the training ground itself another place, could work.

Just have to wait and see.

You seem to be conveniently forgetting the 9 promotions prior to this when Fleetwood climbed the leagues...what he has done there is unbelievable really and he couldnt have done it without a real passion for football. I think they have reached as high as they are going to go and tbh I have little interest in them as I am a Blackpool fan and we already have a brilliant owner at the helm.

Correct. Them and especially AFC Fylde.

The boundary is just after that, so for the space they will need, it can only be past the boundary.

Maybe we are going to do what Chester have done and have the entrance in Blackpool and the rest in Wyre just like Chester city has the main entrance in England and the rest of the whole ground is in Wales but they kid on their fans that they are actually an ‘English club in England’😆

If he’s found guilty, fraud and money laundering are nasty offences and he will go to jail. It would be a shame given what he’s done for the club and we should be sympathetic to their fans as we should be for fans everywhere in their predicament. After all, we were on the brink not long ago.
