England v Columbia Lionesses

Sick of the constant gushing over Columbia players by the commentator and Emma Hayes. "Incredible, amazing, unbelievable". Bored of hearing it. They are bang average and losing.
Bit harsh Mac - I'd take them over USA and the Aussies all day and remember most of their skill is natural not coached. They will get stronger and stronger.

I think Colombia put everything in first half and now they're running out of steam a bit. I've been on two extended trips to Colombia an it's an unbelievable country by the way. Great value and well worth visiting if you keep your wits about you. The recent Guy Martin programme had it spot on - well worth a watch.
You're not known as 'Escobar of t'North' for nothing! 😎

Well, there's a question! Now I am a big Marc Almond fan and seen him live a few times and he is brilliant. Last night he wasn't his usual chatty self and they played lots of stuff off their latest album that no one had heard much of so we actually left after 30 minutes when he said "Lots of new songs tonight". Now I don't mind that if you are going to watch them when they are on a big tour promoting a new album, you expect that but not on a night under the stars for a 75 minute set, you expect them to just go through the best stuff, loads of people left early too with the same comments.

However Heaven 17 and OMD were absolutely on it and both were superb, OMD just played single after single and they were having a blast and the crowd were loving it, same for Heaven 17,

So all in all a really good afternoon/evening at a great outdoor venue on a beautiful night.
My friends who went said Soft Cell were amazing and posted their set list . . to be fair they only played four new songs and all of their big tunes . . . they still have it 👍

Hippos in the back garden and everything mate 🤣
Just been whatsapping my pal Sergio who has taken me round Colombia on various birding trips, including Buenaventura, the scariest city they have, Pereira, where the best motorcycle sicarios were trained, Tulua (birthplace of Faustino Asprilla - remember him?), Escobar's Antiquoia and Medellin, which speaks of itself. He's a bit of a player and tells me "very very pretty yours players" . High praise 😃👍

the thing for me about these girls is that prior to the tournament I wasn't really fussed too much about womens football but it has a way of drawing and sucking you in and I now get that nervous excitement watching the games and going thru the whole range of emotions.
Thast me to 20’s. I didn’t realise I cared that much but my nerves kick in so badly so it must mean something .

I think the women‘s Euro’s have drawn more in and it’s definitely gaining interest.

Much better performance but they do make hardwork of things. Australia in the semi final is probably better than France but will be a challenge given they are the host nation. Every credit to them, they seem to have great team spirit.

I think Colombia had strengths in other areas that were tough for us.
That was a tough one in the end. Not sure Australia should be feared much more.
Aussies are the only team to beat us since Wiegman took over and with Kerr back, I'm worried. Colombia were excellent though, can see why they've made it this far and with them being so young, they're ones to keep an eye on for the future.

yep, glad it's the Aussies. They are extremely well organised but I don't think they have the individual flair that the French had. And the French were more dangerous in the air.

Well I beg to differ and it's a shame as I really love their music, I've never seen so many people flock out after half an hour before. As I said they were the main attraction for me but to my surprise the other 2 bands played them off the stage.

To be fair the quality has improved massively over the past few years and the current England team actually play really attractive football at a great standard.

The way the team is setup is streets ahead of every team I’ve seen. Passing game mirrors that of the men’s team. Not the most athletic side but make up for it with technical ability. Great tournament and a tough semi ahead
