England v Columbia Lionesses

For those of us not travelling to Exeter today a nice start to get us in the mood.

11.30 kick off, a bit early for a pint for you guys, probably, but a nice time for a bit of brunch, maybe.

I’m not confident about this one. I still think we feel the player losses too much , but I’m rooting for the lionesses all the way.

Brunch menu:-

Sainsburys ‘the one‘ peppery sausage on sourdough toasted bread.

Apple juice and a mocha

You ?

Teeing off at 11.36 so fortunately miss the game.
It's not for me Lala but whatever floats your boat.
I'm sure there'll be like minded to yourself cheering the lioness' on but it's a day that I'd rather be getting wet through and frustrated on the golf course.

Just did a an upper body session with brutal weighted pull ups (eek!) so strawberry protein shake and creatine plus some buttered crumpets (get those dirty carbs in straight after)

Looking forward to this game though I think it’ll be really tight.

That peppery sausage sounds awesome btw - jealous 👍

We went to see Heaven 17, OMD and Soft Cell at Audley End yesterday (Which was great) and we made loads of home made sausage rolls and Frittata as well as some home made Brioche, so it will be Sausage Rolls and Brioche with Raspberry jam and lots of tea.

Sounds lovely Herts. How were Soft Cell ?

Well, there's a question! Now I am a big Marc Almond fan and seen him live a few times and he is brilliant. Last night he wasn't his usual chatty self and they played lots of stuff off their latest album that no one had heard much of so we actually left after 30 minutes when he said "Lots of new songs tonight". Now I don't mind that if you are going to watch them when they are on a big tour promoting a new album, you expect that but not on a night under the stars for a 75 minute set, you expect them to just go through the best stuff, loads of people left early too with the same comments.

However Heaven 17 and OMD were absolutely on it and both were superb, OMD just played single after single and they were having a blast and the crowd were loving it, same for Heaven 17,

So all in all a really good afternoon/evening at a great outdoor venue on a beautiful night.

One time when I was in Vegas my business partner and I were watching tears for fears (up there with my top live bands) we got chatting with another English guy who was the tour manager for OMD trying to sort out bookings for an upcoming US tour. They were in Vegas about 5 months later my partner said an absolutely phenomenal band live.

Scrambled eggs and butcher’s sausage with toasted seeded batch on the go as we speak. Looking forward to this. Hopefully a good day all round. 😎

Yep, I’ve only seen highlights of the other games as they’ve been on while I’m at work but they certainly seem to be playing better than I’ve seen so far and are starting to match the Columbians physicality

The Colombians look stronger and a yard quicker at the minute.
A couple of observations, the first touch in the women's game is generally awful and not many of them can hit a ball first time, if they don't take a touch first the majority of them shank it.
