England v India - 2nd Test - official thread šŸ‘

Hammy needs to open and be given the rest of the series (despite being out for 9). Sibley needs potting. Root goes to 3 and look for a no 4.

Bairstow gone just before tea. šŸ™„

All in the hands of our skipper (yet again) he goes thatā€™s it game over.

Only England can go from potentially winning a test match this morning to whatā€™s going to be hanging on come the close of play.

The beauty of test cricket. Far superior to the bish bash bosh being rammed down our throats at the moment.

I'm prepared to come out of international retirement and available for selection. Last played competitively in the Fleetwood evening league circa. 1980. Can't be worse than this lot šŸ˜‚
I played on and off in the FEL in the mid-70s/early 80s, think it was for Hesketh and Bay Horse teams.

Good nights out, who did you play for?

Just switched on after finishing work, find India and Kohli in particular infuriating and horrible to watch. Not in the spirit of the game whatsoever, take last night, kohli crying like a baby on the balcony about the lightā€¦.. well sunshine I just hope that time lost last night hits you tonight

I like him.

The India tail always seem to Wag where as ours is the complete opposite.

20 overs to survive with 3 wickets in hand you wouldnā€™t back against India pulling it off.

D'you know, I can't remember. I remember that concrete pitch though! I was a genuine long leg/number 11! šŸ¤øā€ā™‚ļø šŸ˜±
Haha, I can't remember ever playing on a concrete pitch.

Played in a final one year at Thornton ICI's ground and Billy O'Rourke (RIP) opened the bowling, I smacked him straight back over his head for 6 in the first over.

The one and only time that I ever apologised to a bowler!šŸ™‚

They had concrete wickets on Common Edge Road in between the footy pitches! Didnā€™t turn much thoughšŸ˜‰

Englandā€™s tail wagged like a Dog with no tail. šŸ˜‚
Lost it this morning poor bowling from England against Indiaā€™s tail.
Weā€™ve managed to drag a loss from the jaws of victory to a shocking defeat.

one minute you think were gonna make it with Buttler and Robinson looking untroubled and then boom it's all over.

What a shower of shite. Embarrassing. Selectors should all be sacked. Worst batting line up bar Root in my memory. Village green zombies.

I think Mac even microwaves chips. Fast Fast Fast.

Don't tell him but I'm with him on this one.

There can still be great test matches - we've just seen one - but you have to move with the times and the new formats are where it's at.

I like all formats but the modern thinking already impacts test matches and will do so more and more in the future.

I'll stop chunnering, I only came on to find MAC and get him at it !!!!!!!!!!!

Great match. Listening to TMS it sounds like there is a lot of needle between the two sides.
The rest of the series should be well worth watching.
England will do well to come back from this though.
Need to find another batsman or two from somewhere.

Fantastic day of test cricket if you are a neutral or India fan . . . but a total nightmare for Root & England.

After they got Pant out the game was for the taking.

I don't think Sibley will see an England shirt again but the replacements aren't there unfortunately.

Root, great batsman, but questionable as captain. We lost all focus in the morning session and handed India the initiative.

Generally, need to rethink our focus on quick cricket over County Championship. Also need to think about the central contracts - do they really encourage player and team development?

We didnā€™t need the Hundred, 20-20 was more than enough. We simply donā€™t have players who can grind out results.

Sibley should have been potted after the last test - if heā€™s the best weā€™ve got then we may as well give up.

Iā€™d rather see us put out our 20-20 batsmen and just have a go. Thereā€™s no point in spending time at the crease just waiting to get out for 10.

Couldn't agree more, what a match.

Where's MAC ?

Is he still busy promoting that 100's chite he keeps banging on about !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! šŸ˜€

You do me great disservice 2020. I like cricket in all formats. I do however find test cricket incredibly dull.

And The 100 is not shite. It's been a huge success.

Full stadiums each night as opposed to a half empty Lords tells its own story.

But thanks for the passive aggressive mention. You can get back to defending yourself on the politics site now šŸ˜‰
