FA Cup 4th round date

Just looked at the FA website and it says our tie (were we to win next Wednesday) will be played on Friday 26 January. 745 KO

How totally shit….
 
The FA wonder why people are less interested in the FA Cup. This round is a classic example. Spread over 5 days for TV. 5 ties played outside the weekend to make travel hard for away fans.
 
Utter crap on a Friday night. Should all just be played in the Saturday/sunday. Ridiculous from the FA once again
 
It will be better for some and not for others . An evening fixture not Saturday or Sunday may suit fans who already had plans for that weekend .

Maybe, if there's some big event / demonstration on the Saturday.

But if there isn't, it looks a bit odd, with three cup ties at big grounds on the Friday night (Chelsea/Villa, Spurs/City, the Spammers/???) and one at the smallest ground on Saturday (Fulham/Newcastle).
 
That's a shambolic day and time for the game you've basically got to take the day off.

Well that's none in my group going if we get through to next round.

We wrote to the FA about the last debacle - the FA reply is on the BST website.

However, not sure what we can do about something that’s in the Broadcasting deal - we don’t like it as much as anyone else.

I would guess the game has been picked for international TV, but that has not been announced yet.

We all know Football in general doesn’t give a dam about fans - it’s just the coins they want to collect.

Wait until next season (I think) when over 1000 EFL and cup games will be shown live in the UK, plus obviously the Prem.
 
DONT care really . WEST HAM away . that was a rubbish draw for starters . IT will be on ITV Bore . I mean 4 . have to be a tv job .

Ignoring the FA have it in for us and the Ref was the worst we've seen since our last defeat nonsense, it looks like they are expecting a WHU v NF game and maybe will want to make it available for i'nal streaming, possibly.

As said above all should be Sat 3pm bar a lunchtime game, maybe a teatime game and a lunchtime game on Sunday.

Yep, think they are banking on WHU and Forest both coming thru the replays so it's more attractive for tv. Fact is though there's two even bigger games that night so it's a baffling one.
 
To hell with the travelling fans, so long as the FA get their hands on the filthy lucre, that's all that counts.

I would have gone, just to see the stadium, but whatever now I will be there on Wednesday, but not if we win at either West Ham, or Bristol.

YES i would have loved to see the WEST HAM stadium . but its just really bad. I would have considered Bristol City but friday. get real. Went to Villa Park back in 2015. SAT .

the only time i have any real interest is the ist and 2rds when the lower league bods are waiting to jump on some BIGGER club like us. LOL.
 
Football awaydays are becoming a thing of the past for me now and I would 100% have gone to this on a Saturday. I have only done Port Vale and Burton away and they were decent days spoiled by the football. That is my lowest total in the last 42 years and I feel its a very expensive hobby to be treated like shite and made as awkward as possible to attend. Hats off to the fans that still go to most games...every credit to you all....Pompey aside you deserve better from the team
