I hope the Police arrested them all for public disorder offences.

They were told to keep away, and yet they ignored that instruction.

Just what is the country coming to.

These rwnjs don't understand the term "peaceful protest"

The problem is that these "people" were fighting and throwing missiles at the Police
I agree certain behaviours should be dealt with.

I don’t agree with censoring one group and not censoring another however. It’s all been dealt with in a very shoddy fashion and potential issues are worse not better as a result.

Freedom of speech is one of the kingpins of our country.

It should always be supported, no matter how much you disagree with the aims of the protesters, as long as it doesn't break the law.

They weren’t censoring the right wingers though, they just weren’t letting March to the cenotaph, the same thing is being applied to the Palestinian March which has been given a route that goes nowhere near.

I don’t agree with rwnj’s but you can’t tell one set of peope to stay away when you’re letting other people there stoking up contention in the first place.
That's the 2 tier policing in the UK.

Most who disagree and take a stand are called far right, when I bet many aren't. They'll be people just angry about the disrespect being shown by people who have been allowed into the country who don't share our values.

Its a freedom march against the oppression of a minority people...are they not your values?

It has nothing to do with our country, it's a complex issue, not as simple as just 'free Palestine' that half the nobs will say who wont even care about the history. We've already seen disorder at these marches and in the past other legitimate marches have been canned out of fear of disorder from the reaction from the other side.

Maybe they should go and march in the region it affects?

Assume protestors should also be marching in Ukraine by your logic.

welcome to the discussion. For some people it's not about that. They agree with it and the march. It's just the timing/date of it and that it should have been held over for a week. The fact it's happening this week has just encouraged the right wing extremists to come out and create a situation which could and should have been avoided.

How many marches have they had? Did it need to be today and there?

I don't really care what they do, but we've seen many marches shut down.

Police happy to shut people away during covid apart from the mostly peaceful blm rio.. protests of course.

I'm sure if a march was planned that offended a minority group on a special day it'd be shut down quicker than you can snap your fingers.

I understand the symbolism of having a march today. However its not a pro Nazi march or a Pro Hitler march or an anti Christian march its not even an anti Jew march,, its an anti war and freedom march and given I'm sure you understand the dictionary definition of what an armistice is then armistice day really does have very significant symbolic meaning. Now the hoolies that have gone down there believing they are being patriotic probably believe they are defending something but they have been embarassing causing disorder in the hours around the 11am silence. Can't really understand it but if you watch GB News and read the Daily Mail maybe that explains it.

All things being equal id rather the march hadn't taken place due to the policitical interference since it was announced however they have every right to protest...ironically rights our war heros fought for against right wing Nazis all those years ago!

So when the RWNJs attacked the police with cries of "let's get at them" what they were actually doing was being angry about the disrespect being shown by people who weren't there and were not, therefore, disrespecting anyone.

They can't hammas would machine gun them all down as they did when they held a protest some years ago.

It the wrong timing, given they haven't been peaceful and have already defaced monuments. It was always going to stir up anger.

All I'm saying is the police etc have been happy to shut down marches in the past when others were offended.

Did I say that? I'm not there I don't know what's happened. Clearly soke will over step and shouldn't. But the reaction was predictable yet police allowed it, where foe other sides they wouldn't.

Apparently there's a big game on today I'm more interested in.

All about opinions. You're against the march today. Tbh I'm neutral. The people marching are for it. Fortunately the law allows the freedom for individuals not governments to decide. I take it a march against oppression and war whilst calling for a ceasefire on "armistice" day is lost on you. I may be wrong. Anyway respect your entitlement to your view. I also respect the marchers viewpoint. I have ex forces in my extended family so I'm not anti respect to our vets btw.

We've seen a veteran assaulted and monuments defaced.

It's a special day and it was going to cause trouble.

I've generally no issues with people marching wherever as long as its peaceful and not causing disruption.

This situation clearly has potential to go off.

At least face reality, a lot of people at these events don't give a shit about the values of this country.

Actually the Daily Mail has no hesitation at all in condemning the RW rioters as thugs. Certainly very different to some of the apologists on here.

They’ve also interviewed veterans at the Cenotaph who are equally disgusted with the Robinson crowd.

Not often I’m impressed with Daily Mail reporting but they haven’t held back. And quite right too.

What are these values you keep going on about?

"Been allowed into the country"

So that's the crux of it!

Presumably you're against our Australian/Thai midfielder being "allowed into the country"

How about our Republic of Ireland defender " being allowed into the country"

Or how about our young midfielder whose Ivorian parent was " allowed into the country"

You let that slip didn't you. We'll know where you're coming from.

you're the piece of scum who wants all the Jews to go and live in the USA and you have the nerve to preach about values when yours are more warped than anyone elses..

You're the internet troll who claimed he has two AVFTT usernames one of which totally contradicts the views you express on here.

Hello 20s.

Been in your cot for your afternoon nap.?

So you're now denying we've let tons of peope who are completely against our values?

We don't have to watch a huge list of potential terrorists?

We're turning back people we know absolutely nothing about who arrive on boats, who throw away their documents and could be anyone are we?

Clueless.

It’s not clear whether the assault on the veteran poppy seller occurred. The police have dropped the investigation anyway. If it did then obviously then it goes without saying that the criminal should be prosecuted and punished.

As for the monuments being defaced I know of the Rochdale one (where two teenagers have been arrested) but no others. Someone (I think it was Tommy Two Jags but might be wrong) claimed there’d been one in Manchester but that turned out to be the Rochdale one. 20s said there’d been one in Leigh but as it was in September (and before the murders on 7 October) it obviously wasn’t related to the current troubles at all. The graffiti was something like “Keighton” so a vandal leaving his tag rather than a political statement. 20s actually apologised for his mistake!

The truth is important at times like this.

The tower at the top of Holcombe Hill has also been defaced.

But what do you think about all these people "being allowed into the country"
You have to question why we allow people, who we know nothing about and often who's are values completely against our own.

Of course you won't though, you just want a complete open door.

But yet you say the rwnj have been told to stay away, and are inferring they should. Freedom of speech is only real if it applies to all I’m afraid.

Both groups were told to stay away from Whitehall.

The extreme right wingers attacked the Police. 82 have been arrested so far.

I haven't seen any reports of trouble with the Peace march, except for some knuckle daggers coming out of a pub, and shouting abuse.
