This Ronaldo header Vs Roma always sticks in the memory, worth noting where he starts his run from and the ground he covers as the ball leaves Scholes foot...
Just like Trevor Brooking for Wet Spam at Wembley? My memory ain't what it used to be but donkey's years ago didn't we have someone (max something maybe??) stoop to head one in from about a yard right at ground level?
Is there a video clip anywhere of that goal - and why were the celebrations so wild - was it just the goal or did it have that much meaning? Remember going ballistic in the old East!Other than Richard Walker
That's exactly how I remember the game. They had no intention of trying to score they just sat back and because of the torrential persistent downpour Pool struggled to break them down. For me it was definitely the Walker's injury time winner v Plymouth argyle, (See clip below) for 2 reasons really, the 1st being i was in the south paddock that day & it was mental when he scored that header in injury time.
But what made it all the sweeter for me was the fact Argyle obviously came for a draw & blatently time wasted for the whole of the game right from the kick off., their keeper was taking the piss big time throughout the game!
You can only imagine how pi@@ed off he/they were losing the game deep into injury time!
