Sat in the South Stand…..the reaction when that went in was amazing….For actually being at matches, Richard Walker scored the best header, especially that he started the move off from the halfway line, then bulleted the header from the edge of the area to win 1-0 in the 94th minute.
Mickey Burns scored two identical ones, the first being away at Swindon which was the equaliser in our 1-1 draw, the week before Big Fred's hat-trick at Dungdale. The other was of course the 3-2 last minute winner in the FA Cup v Arsenal.
Despite the numerous Ray Charnley headers, I remember watching from the Kop when Gordon Milne scored a diving header in the South goal from a corner.

No that's my favourite shouldered goal.Gary Taylor Fletcher V Cardiff at Wembley. Surly that has to be everyone’s favourite
I always though it was his shoulder as he turns his head on it but watching on slow mo it is definitely his head!No that's my favourite shouldered goal.
Richard WalkerOther than Richard Walker, I remember Paul Stewart playing for Tottenham scoring a great header from the near the penalty spot. I think it was against the scousers, probably got him the move.

How dare I miss the Mickey Walsh 'towering' header out of my comments. It was in the same year as his 'BBC Goal of the season.' In both matches we were 2-0 up, then 2-2, before Mickey scored the winners. That Mickey Walsh header was a classic.
On MOTD, Best & Moore but no Rodney Marsh.
1969 I thought.Tommy White v Man City ..think it was League Cup ...around '74 ( I think ) ?
I've only ever seen the Richard Walker goal on video (DVD). I was half way down the steps at the back of the scratching shed when I heard the roar.Richard Walker
Lived in London at the time before moving up here & was still squelching as I got out the car 4 hours later

I was there. I'd seen us beat Wrexham in the competition then Wolves and City. As an 8 year old I thought that we were just as good as teams in Division One. Then we played Arsenal......Just looked it up Blackpool 1 Man City 0, Sept 1968 attendance 23,795 scorer White

Yep , we lost 5 1 but actually played pretty well. Tony Green scored a blinder. My other memory of that game was that Arthur Mullard was stood behind me. You may or may not remember him . Lugoubrious commedian.I was there. I'd seen us beat Wrexham in the competition then Wolves and City. As an 8 year old I thought that we were just as good as teams in Division One. Sorry if wrong, but are you Ray?Howdy Keith owd lad!
Great goal-scoring headers by Ray Charnley were ten-a-penny (today that'd be ten-a-pound) when I was watching us back in the early 1960s.
Richard Walker's was un(bloody)believable, me and my lad were stood in the Scratching Shed exactly in-line with the edge of the penalty area and had the almost perfect view.
Aye, the whole ground erupted when the ball thudded into the back of th'onion bag.
Plymouth had made no effort to win the game or, indeed, to get forward at anytime and I don't think they had a shot in 90-odd minutes.
Their manager's tactics got their just reward, Paul Sturrock if I remember rightly?
I was playing for Layton one day and Dave Pollard scored a header from outside the box. That was decent.I scored a great one for Layton Institute. I shouted to Dougall who was at the near post to flick it on and then buried it
