Favourite Pool left backs

I have a thing for left backs I think.

Gaz Evans was total class. Thought he was brilliant.
Mitch Cook was my first favourite player.
Loved both Hillsy and Tommy J.
Jimmy Husband I ** love.
Marc Bola was definitely the best player we had when we came back.
Crainey is just too obvious but he was outstanding.

Another vote for Alan Wright from me, did enjoy watching Mitch Cook too though. An honorary mention also to Carl Dickinson who we once had on loan from Stoke. Only played a few games for us but he was a proper committed player for us

wasnt steve harrison a left back as well, decent player
He was, one i'd forgotten about. A good player and equally good decorator

Coached me when i was young , had a small dog called Pele

Ended up as Assistant England manager to Graham Taylor

A fantastic after dinner speaker, a very funny man and known for a special party trick

Which was?

Just an aside. The best full backs I've seen at Bloomfield Rd were Jimmy Armfield (many times) and Danny McGrain (once). I was in the Scratching shed for the 1983 charity game for the drowned police officers and dog owner. McGrain's speed of thought, movement and passing were amazing.

For the last couple of decades it would be Crainey and added to the list of some great BFC players would just like to mention Tommy Garrett from the golden days of the fifties, he was playing for us when I first when to Bloomfield rroad in '49 and still playing frist division football when I was in the RAF, many years later.

I was at that match as well 66
McGrain was excellent, he made everything look easy against a Liverpool 11 if I recall correctly?
Sadly I never saw Sir Jim play, only started going in 76.

Folk have beaten me to it, but I've always thought Wrighty should have been England's first choice lb. Nothing against Le Said but how AW didn't even get a look is a complete mystery.

I hope it's not that, but it almost smacks of him just playing for the wrong club.

The number of times he won headers against blokes 8-10 inches taller. Timed his jump well.

Have to agree with Crainey as part of the best team I saw us have, and a great attacking FB in his own right. But for me AW was the better player
