FGR sack their manager

They should have stuck with Hannah Dingley who was interim manager before Horseman’s appointment.

She would have done a better job and made some headlines. 👍

Not sure what Joey Barton would have made of it though….

Joey's head would have literally exploded

Appointed as caretaker manager by FGR on 4 July 2023 following the sacking of Duncan Ferguson. The Forest Green owner announced "It was a very simple decision. Hannah was the most qualified person at the club for the job. Nothing else came into frame." She left her role on 17 July 2023.

Well at least they could have given her two weeks in the job.

It's a shame really ; they hit a glass ceiling that was probably higher than they ever expected and it looks from the outside as though it is beginning to unravel quite quickly.

You do fear for them if they end up in the NL next season. If clubs the size of Oldham and Southend struggle to adapt, you can see them failing to manage it.

I listened to his interview last night and he didn’t really throw them under the bus he set out firstly that the players at fault had been giving everything but the individual errors that lead to the goals needed pointing out.

He was right it didn’t feel a three nil game.We bossed them more in the second half but the first goal is a massive cock up between player and keeper, second they have let norburn slip a pass fifty yards or so unchallenged and the third they have been done with a header that should’ve been dealt with.

They didn’t create enough chances but I don’t disagree with much of what he said to be honest.

I said during the game that he looked like a Sunday league manager who’s ‘sponsor’ had just dipped in for a managers coat… Just seemed weirdly out of his depth. FGR looked like a non-league team to me.

Are they sponsored by the Boulangerie Vegan .. no wonder they didn't put any meaty challenges in, I would have steaked my house on them not winning that but clearly the manager had some beef!

The fact that he didn't just admit to being outplayed for pretty much the entirety of the game and tried to make out they we were lucky with our goals, tells you a lot. He looks like a man destined for the chop in that interview.
Mishit pass for the second goal. Right...
