Fist pump

Not the time for it is it, seems more like a plea for approval.

Whilst I am guilty of spending way too long looking at the table in hope, realistically our chances of play offs are small, really small, and Critchley has to be at least partly responsible for that.

We find ourselves in a peculiar situation where the manager's stubbornness to make even minor necessary changes appear to have cost us a play off spot. Changes that 90% of those who are watching can blatantly see.

Whoever was asking fir Critchley to fist pump at the end needs their head examining. We have just scraped a one nil win against third from the bottom of the league and were clinging on in extra time. It was embarrasing.
I’m embarrassed to say it but when he was here the first time I quite enjoyed it as it felt like he was here for the long term with his 4 year contract and it looked like he was going to be building something special with patting the badge thrown in for good measure, obviously as soon as he got a better offer he left so now I’d like it if he fucked off down the tunnel after games regardless of the result

The fist came across as the desperate act of someone trying to buy approval from the mob. A bit pitiful really. If that equaliser had been allowed it would have been a very different outcome. It doesn't make me happy to say this, but it's true.

I’m interested to know what and how you would change our system while remembering that teams play us by putting all 11 behind the ball and try to frustrate us.
Please don’t leave a single detail out either because it should be a great read.
Get ready everyone…

Reminded me of Steve Evans doing the first pump to the small section of Stevenage fans.

We simply can't be doing first pumps after a scraping a home win against Fleetwood. What have we become. Really does make me want to upgrade to a Firestick Max.

Be surprised if you got a sensible answer

It’s not hard. You sack off 5 at the back. At home, it isn’t as obvious as the full backs as the wing backs get forward. Away from home, we end up with a flat back five. Similar to what happened to Fleetwood last night. Husband for example had a free rein to get forward as their right back stayed in a flat back five.

It’s a shambles and you don’t need shitty coaching badges to understand that.

That does make sense but then my amazing philosophy is play 442 with traditional wingers who get the ball in the box, not that we've anyone who can play that way mind.

Well yes because Critchley has sold all our attacking players.

Grimshaw
Gabriel-Casey-Ekpiteta-Husband
Byers-Morgan
CJ-Carey-Dembele
Lavery

That team would have us competing with Portsmouth and Derby but unfortunately Critchley likes to enhance our weakest area of the field by playing an extra defender. Mind boggling.

Second win on the trot and he has the temerity to celebrate it with the fans. Unbelievable.

Wait isn't there another thread about him not showing enough passion?

Fake desperate bullshit. How can you be happy with a poor performance yet again as a manager. I get the fact we needed a win more than the performance but a fist pump for me would suggest we are closer in the race than we actually are.

It's not the winning it's the way we won. The football was crap. If your happy with that then you are easily pleased. Then to fist pump at the end after he stared the North out the other day is taking the Mickey.
The North asked him to do it. If he hadnt he'd have been criticised for blanking them.

He did the right thing. Won a game and celebrated with the adoring crowd at their specific request.

Its doesn't matter how you change but not changing it would only be done by some kind of simpleton.

'Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. '

Instead of a fist pump, perhaps a wiping of the forehead in a 'phew' gesture might be more appropriate?

Good to meet you last night, btw Mark GT.

“As the fullbacks as the wing backs”…wtf are you talking about? Are you saying it depends on how the other team set up? Bit obvious isn’t it? I was requesting more thought be put into these negative sh*tposts.
I understand full well the reasons for why we’re playing the way we are. So far I’m not convinced you or the other negative nellies do.
“Shitty coaching badges”… well, turns out you do need them and I now understand the reason for all these daft complainant posts. 😂 wow

And keep going

Typo. As standard practice you write full backs but then you remember Critchley's shit formation and type wing backs whilst forgetting to remove the full back wording.

If you understand the 3-5-2 formation then you will understand why we have only won 4 away games all season then? Let me spin it around then and ask you why you fully understand the reasons we play this system especially when we are so shit away from home?

That would be too difficult because the doom mongers spend their entire lives criticising and would have no fcucking idea what you are asking

That’s why I asked. Sick of seeing the blame brigade with poxy negative statements. I want to make them think for a minute and try and come up with an original thought rather than hearing someone loudly say something and thinking they’re so knowledgeable by repeating it.

Never mind “spinning it around” I’m not the one spouting doom and gloom all over this forum. I understand why we play the way we do. You don’t.
So I’m asking for your expert, in depth change of tactics that we ‘clearly need’. And between me and you, I don’t think you really have one.
We can all make suggestions, I want to hear this important yet elusive change you keep harping on about.

It's not hard. The defenders haven't got a clue. The defensive line is all over the place meaning simple through balls often get through. All too often, they get in each other's way from crosses. Because there are three of them, they leave it to one another and we give away free headers all the time.

The biggest problem is away from home, our wing backs are pushed back and we end up playing with a flat back five. This means there is no outlet when we get the ball and the midfield find it hard to retain possession. This massively contributes to a familiar Blackpool Nil scoreline away from home.

Ok that was my go. Now your turn as to why we are right to play this formation? Thought not..

If the defence haven't a clue :

- why do we have the 5th best defensive record in the league based on goals actually conceeded

- why have only two keepers kept more clean sheets than Grimmy this season?

Because our home record papers over the cracks. Teams sit back and we can get our wing backs forward. Don't let this mask over the fact we concede bad goals in key moments primarily away from home. This has hindered us all season.

The formation is hideous especially with the players we have at our disposal.

Except when Hubby plays he's often out wide left putting in crosses, home or away, and CJ is nearly always in their half, as is Coulson so I just don't buy into this flat back 5 criticism.

When Casey was playing with Pennington and Marv, then there was a reluctance to get as far up the pitch. I'll give you that.

They barely get forward away from home and end up a back five even with Husband. That's why it's mostly.... Blackpool Nil. It's a shambles.

All I’m hearing is more blame and whining and no fixes.
We’ve heard your complaints, tell us how you’d set up against a team who doesn’t want to play but instead puts 11 men behind the ball.

If you can do that instead of using how an actual coach HAS set up in the past with the cheat of hindsight, I will gladly respond to your question.

I get why he did it, momentum is massive in football. He needs the fans behind him after alienating them for a lot of this season. If we beat Carlisle and a few results go our way, he'll need Bloomfield Road to be back to it's best against Barnsley who are currently in complete self destruct mode.
