Fleetwood Town v Blackpool Official Matchday Thread 05.12.20

Agree & disagree. We could do with getting game time into the legs of those who are not getting league games.
It's pretty insignificant in terms of importance, but any revenue is better than nothing ATM. I'd expect major changes on both sides. I'll watch it though as there's not a right lot else to do.

Great win, good run hopefully wild celebrations over the majority of the Fylde Coast !

well done the players and Neil C & assistants 👍

Oxford next week _ DONT underestimate them - if you can draw with Hull you could beat anyone !

Oxford will climb the table and will be as touch a game as anybody in the division right now I think.

You’ll always get the ‘we should be beating teams like these (below us in the table, smaller set up etc) ‘ but surely nobody on here can ever imagine that Critchley, or any league manager, would ever underestimate the opposition.

Critchley's a class act. He won't let complacency set in. He will have learned a lot from that 2nd half at Doncaster. In fact, we could look back at that game as a very important lesson in our season.

Does anyone care about the game on Tuesday agaist Fleetwood? I really don't, the sooner we are out of that shit Cup the better. Would give us a chance to rest players and focus on the league.
Games matter to the fringe players. If they don't get any match practice how can we expect them to do a good job for the team if called upon? Make 11 changes if necessary and risk the small fine.

Can’t agree more as painful as that 2nd half was and the loss to Donny, we certainly didn’t make the same mistake yesterday and kept it very tight for the first 15 minutes of the 2nd half.

He wasn't bad but how many fouls were there in the game? No one booked.
There should have been at least 2 bookings on Fleetwood side., and maybe one on BFC.
Doesn't make him outstanding just because no one was booked.
Disagree Dave I personally didn’t think there was any foul worthy of a card yesterday he let the game flow which is always great to watch.
Yellow cards are handed out far too easily in today’s game and players play to get opposition players booked all to often.
So in my opinion we had another good ref. 👍
Sadly it won’t last though. 🙄

I thought the referee was excellent throughout, let the game flow, sensible decisions, was not going to let anyone pressurise him. Finally dealt with playacting by Fleetwood players on several occasions.

The ref was ok, however Finley should have been booked for his mugging of Kenny Dougall , if not for the totting up process!

If you watch the extended highlights, the mugging was retribution for a minor mugging by Dougall earlier in the game. Their player was just much better at it. Ref and lino following play so no booking .... tho it certainly deserved one

Dougall tried to grass him up .... soft git 😉

If they’d scored from that situation we’d be livid !

Was it a comfortable win yesterday as KD seems to suggest? We looked really comfortable, yes, and yet they hit the bar, had a goal disallowed and sort of scored just after the final whistle. And we didn't trouble their keeper much. Hmm...

Err...I'm hitting a logic-block with this one.

Cods committed about twice as many fouls etc as Pool did.
If you think that continual fouling is OK then you should follow Cods, not Pool.
Surely that often a booking is a follow up to continuous fouling?
If you're happy with that, O.K.

18 - 13 on fouls isn’t about twice as many unless my maths is still bad

There were a couple of Cods who persistently fouled as we set up counter attacks. Deliberate and cynical. I was amazed no one was booked.
