Forest

So they’ve so far forked out around £175 million quid in transfers this summer yet their paying the bulk of the Bowler fee in instalments.

Well done Mansford that’s just unbelievable to take in it really is.

I wonder how many new faces we can bring in on the tick? 🙁
No way would I accept instalments. In the end, You cannot be bitter about the move. We receive the fee. He gets more money. Going to a PL team. They will stay up. On loan at a club who are normally in the CL. This time in Europa league I now know. We had no chance of keeping him. If we are to maybe do anything special, He needs to be replaced. Tick, tock, tick, tock.....

Totally agree, there was no way we could keep him so cashing him in now was the right thing to do as we’d have got nothing come next summer.
It’s just that once again little club Blackpool are the ones being paid on the tick when all if not most of their other transfers have been cash up front. 🤬

They've taken the piss, they've paid huge fees upfront and this is peanuts in comparison yet they insist on paying in installments. If the Oystons were still in charge then I'd say it's been done on purpose so they don't have to spend it.

Exactly. 👍
If the Oystons had still been here this board would be in meltdown on why they’ve agreed to instalments from a club who have so far spent £175 million quid on 20 new players.

Where have you seen this ?

Come on it's been on Tw@tter of course its true 🤦‍♂️🤗

But Jaffa, have they actually paid £175m up front, or is that the total of what they'll pay if all instalments and add ons are achieved?

I know it's a small point, but it does extrapolate when you comparing high Prem spend to low Champ.

I’am sure they haven’t parted with £175m just yet but they will be doing over the next coming year or two.
For the sake of a measly 4 million quid I’d have made them pay the whole fee up front that’s all I’am implying here it wreaks of the Oyston years.

Of course, fully appreciate that. But you have to factor in the amount they can promise to pay against what we can afford

Perhaps there were no other offers and that’s what Forest offered. Do we accept it or not? Easy to say when it’s not your own money.

So they haven’t paid £175 million and just paying us in instalments then?

Comparing everything we disagree with to the way the Oystons operated really does an injustice to why an entire fanbase boycotted their own football club.

'Hi Josh, yeah we really want you here, glad to have you aboard, but anyway here's a big bucket of cash and your plane ticket to Greece, see you in May, we'll probably be offloading a load of highly paid players with no appearances for us then due to relegation, but good luck anyway...'

Why the fuck didn't we get him back on loan for he season as part of the deal. Clearly they wouldn't object to him going on loan.

We have fucked this one up big time. These guys in charge are just pissing about.

FFP buy shit loads of players and loan some to the owners other club. It needs sorting. Not a problem with them going on loan but same owner is ** bollocks.

Is there anyone else like me who doesn't think it must be true because it's on the internet?

Is Twitter the new gospel and the internet the new God🤦‍♂️🤪

So what we thinking - Reduce your fee to £2.5 million and we'll send him back to you (BFC) instead of Olympiakos.

Mrs Bowler fancies a year in the sun -with a pool - Whilst Josh rips all the fullbacks a new one in the crappy Greek League

Actually think he would cut a dashing figure in a red Spartan cloak. Bit like the ‘storyteller’ in 300. Very handy at set-pieces them Spartans - know how to set up a wall.

As others have pointed out, nearly every single transfer fee of any real size is paid for in instalments and the £175m Forest have paid this summer will not be upfront, just like Bowler. You're blaming our board for operating how every club operates in the market. Don't worry, we can pay for players in instalments too.

I can't remember the previous regime committing £30M to guarantee the future of the club and put it on a sustainable and competitive footing! But I think I can remember a similar amount of money moving in the opposite direction and out of the club under the previous regime. So in short, I think that's an unfair comparison....

Yes, and I guess it is related to the sky TV money being paid in installments....

Half the fan base is still digging up the town with shovels looking for the Brett Ormerod money.😂

The way things are looking our payments will be nothing deposit and bugger all a month.😜

A 40,000 seater arena with closing roof as I recall out by the M55.
I even saw the model of it in Owens board room. 😮🫢
