I hope Marv stays. Can't be arsed changing Marv's image... Oh, and that he'll be a formidable defender in League One

I'd be happy to lose Virtue and one of Tharme or Casey, to allow for us to bring in 2 wide men and 2 front men. All 4 need to be starting quality, really.

In L1 and L2, u21 loans are not counted in the 22. So someone like Layton Stewart could come to us, train with us, get some game time and everybody wins. Except the lads he displaces.


44.9.2 The following Players do not need to be included in the Squad List to be eligible to play in League Matches:

(a) in respect of Championship Clubs, any Under 21 Player (save for any Under 21 Player who is registered with the Club on a Temporary Loan Transfer); and

(b) in respect of League One Clubs and League Two Clubs:

(i) any Under 21 Players; and
(ii) goalkeepers.
 
If the aim is promotion, and it does look that way, then you have to have an eye on the team for the cship. So if you are unsure about X, Y or Z now then offload now and upgrade to players who may well be able to play at a higher level.

100% that's how you need to play the game at this level. Always be strategising for the next level or to get to a point where you can improve the following season if you fall short on this one.
 
I don't think we'll actually 'lose' any more players - Lyons yet to really prove himself and Marv's injury last season won't have helped him.
I would like to see a few players go out though and bring players in who are more what we need.

I've been critical in the past but he's improving all the time and with NCs coaching I can see him being a big plus for us this season if we can utilise his incredible pace.

League One is a different entity and I think in SOME games next season CJ will fly .. but sadly only in some ….

Tharme and Casey haven’t been given a chance yet. Scrafters was drooling about Tharme pre season last year, since when he’s had a full season acclimatising to League One.

It's less a criticism of those players, and more a sign that we have enough depth there with just one of Tharme or Casey. There's not much depth upfront or wide, so there's needs to be sacrifices.
