Did I read right? Gabriel sent off last night.
We seem to have got ourselves in a mess recruitment wise not having replaced Gabriel, Ballard, Embleton and Simms.
I agree. Not so much about Ballard and Simms as I think we have some good options at CB (although I’m not sure what they’re gonna have to do to get game time instead of Keogh) and some options at the top end of the pitch with Yates, Lavery, John-Jules and Madine (when fit).We seem to have got ourselves in a mess recruitment wise not having replaced Gabriel, Ballard, Embleton and Simms.
62 opens AVFTT, opens every thread and hits ctrl+v with his usual predictable drossWe seem to have got ourselves in a mess recruitment wise not having replaced Gabriel, Ballard, Embleton and Simms.
You thought our recruitment was poor last season so forgive us for considering your comments meaningless again this time round. We hadn't signed any of those players at this stage of last season anyway, so you're a bit quick on the gun.We seem to have got ourselves in a mess recruitment wise not having replaced Gabriel, Ballard, Embleton and Simms.

...Keogh!!! Casey has no league experience, Connolly who can play in several positions replaces Turton who could do the same. The only real problem is RB, having lost Turton as well we really needed someone in by the start of the season even if only as cover.
- Ballard - Connolly, Casey & Keogh;
- Simms - Lavery, TJJ and Simms still possible;
- Embleton - enough options in MF for now.
...and signing Keogh was a strange response to missing out on Ballard.I agree. Not so much about Ballard and Simms as I think we have some good options at CB (although I’m not sure what they’re gonna have to do to get game time instead of Keogh) and some options at the top end of the pitch with Yates, Lavery, John-Jules and Madine (when fit).
I feel the recruitment team may have dropped a bit of a bollock when it came to Gabriel and Embleton as it looks very clearly like we put all our eggs in those baskets and don’t have a plan B. To be in this position regarding a RB really is a bit of a disaster as far as I’m concerned and it’s really very obviously effecting us tactically as we simply don’t have the tools to play the way Critch wants us to play.
Dimwit.
Tbf - you said the same about Simms as you have done with JJ…...and signing Keogh was a strange response to missing out on Ballard.
Lavery is more in the mould of Yates, whereas Simms had a physical presence and scored goals. JJ is out of his depth and a waste of a loan.
62 is smiler from “Last of the Summer Wine”
...Keogh!!! Casey has no league experience, Connolly who can play in several positions replaces Turton who could do the same.
...Lavery is in the Yates mould. JJ isn't an out and out striker like Simms.
...Carey brought in but has no league experience.
So I repeat we haven't replaced the 4 good loan players from last season.
Yes Simms improved and proved me wrong but JJ, not a chance.Tbf - you said the same about Simms as you have done with JJ…
I think Keogh was a reasonable signing… but I expected him to be 4th or 5th choice CB with him taking on a mentoring / coaching role as opposed to first choice RCB. With the lack of a proper RB his lack of pace is being brutally exposed.
You're not do much as a glass half empty so much as a didn't have much in my glass but I knocked it over, the glass smashed the beer went into my laptop and blew it up and that has blown the main fuse.We seem to have got ourselves in a mess recruitment wise not having replaced Gabriel, Ballard, Embleton and Simms.
I think we all (including yourself) hope you’re wrong againYes Simms improved and proved me wrong but JJ, not a chance.
Ballard was already a NI international.Ballard had no league experience when we signed him.
Simms had no league experience when we signed him.
Gretarsson had no league experience when we signed him.
Ekpiteta had very little league experience when we signed him.
Ballard had no league experience when we signed him.
Simms had no league experience when we signed him.
Gretarsson had no league experience when we signed him.
Ekpiteta had very little league experience when we signed him.
...Keogh!!! Casey has no league experience, Connolly who can play in several positions replaces Turton who could do the same.

It's easy to pick out facts to back up your argument.Ballard was already a NI international.
Simms had a goalscoring record and a physical presence which we lacked last season.
Ekpiteta played 75 first team games for Leyton Orient. Has lost his place at Pool.
Gretarsson had played for Iceland and had 150 first team games behind him.
Far from petty, I do my homework in case l'm challenged. It's easy to pick out facts to back up your argument.
It's also petty.
Gretarsson has 1 cap, and averaged 20 games a season in nordic football for the last 7 seasons.
Ekpiteta had played less than 40 times in the EFL when we signed him.
TTJ has more league experience than Simms at time of signing.
See?
Sometimes you have to stop having an agenda, chill, and go with the flow. We're fans, we all want the club and team to do well. If it was simple, we'd all be managers/owners, and every team would win every week.
All signings carry an element of risk. The players your comparing are at very similar levels of experience. We got lucky last season. Let's hope we do again.
I agree the RB situation is a major screw up. I don't agree regarding midfield. It lacks height, a physical presence, creativity and goals.Ballard had no league experience before us, Connolly is more a CB/DM who can cover RB, whilst Turton was mostly a RB who could cover CB/Mid, and Keogh played 39 games last season so isn't an obvious write off yet.
Plus there's also Grettarsson and Ekpiteta so it's not as if we have no CB to play with.
So your complaint isn't that we haven't replaced him, but we haven't replaced him with the exact same player, even though he is still injured and we might be able to sign him yet.
Midfield is not an immediate priority.
And I repeat that the major problem is not having a RB, which is a screw up, but one that might be understood.
Simms- NuttallThe only real problem is RB, having lost Turton as well we really needed someone in by the start of the season even if only as cover.

You wouldn't say that to my face you cowardly wimp.Unfortunately tho, 62 is an absolute ** idiot
He cant be helped...
You're right, if I saw your face I'd probably feel that sorry for you that I would just leave itYou wouldn't say that to my face you cowardly wimp.
My apologies 62 for hitting the wrong button. I don't agree with Swann's insulting post, equally I don't condone one BFC supporter slagging off another.Unfortunately tho, 62 is an absolute ** idiot
He cant be helped...
What you really mean is you're gutless. You're right, if I saw your face I'd probably feel that sorry for you that I would just leave it
I will always respond to deliberate baiting of that nature. My apologies 62 for hitting the wrong button. I don't agree with Swann's insulting post, equally I don't condone one BFC supporter slagging off another.
You're entitled to your opinion 62 and others should respect that - even if you do or do not wish to take the glass half full approach.I will always respond to deliberate baiting of that nature.
Cheers for that. You're entitled to your opinion 62 and others should respect that - even if you do or do not wish to take the glass half full approach.
Others may disagree with your comments, but for some to respond in the insulting way they do, I think is out of order to a fellow tangerine.
Keep posting, as I enjoy reading them.
Hey! He started it! Not on this thread, no, but if man wants a keyboard war then I'll give him one!My apologies 62 for hitting the wrong button. I don't agree with Swann's insulting post, equally I don't condone one BFC supporter slagging off another.
This is true. And we did similar with the CB position at the start of last season, hence the crap start again. Not having a recognised RB is poor recruitment. We are a Championship club.
This is wrong. He’s the one the throws insults around first. He’s threatened me with violence on Facebook and on AVFTT. Threatened to find out where I live and come and batter me. The only reason he stopped threatening me is because I found his address online and messaged him with it.You're entitled to your opinion 62 and others should respect that - even if you do or do not wish to take the glass half full approach.

How much league experience did Ballard have? Or Embleton who you slagged off for months on end? Or Simms?...Keogh!!! Casey has no league experience, Connolly who can play in several positions replaces Turton who could do the same.
...Lavery is in the Yates mould. JJ isn't an out and out striker like Simms.

He’s a disgusting human being with no morals. I hope he gets his comeuppance one day.
He’s not a true Blackpool fan.
He has history from the protest days of slagging off everything which was being done to turn around the club. Supposedly a mushroom, although I even doubt his attendance then, he threw abuse on Facebook at the boycotts. His previous username on here took the same stance. It just shows he has no worthwhile ‘opinion’ with any validity. And as Leeds says he is quick to threaten violence yet the hypocrite runs to Facebook to get people reported if he doesn’t like being labelled something. A thoroughly unpleasant individual hiding behind a keyboard.Speaking as someone who knows nothing of any of that, his knee-jerk negativity and second-guessing of everything is too much to bear. There's being critical because of particular results, and there's being critical because it gives you a massive dopamine shot. Constantly posting about how we haven't replaced so-and-so, just cos those so-and-so players looked good in League 1, while at the same time saying that everyone who is playing isn't Championship quality? As though the players from last season who we happen to no longer have would all certainly be up for this level, but the players who we thought were top drawer last season are obviously not up for this level?
It's like listening to a match commentator say a goal was inevitable after it happens, while they hadn't said one thing about the goal coming before it happened. ** 20/20 hindsight, pure magic.
Here here. Last thing that ugly disgrace of a human needs is support from true blackpool fans! This is wrong. He’s the one the throws insults around first. He’s threatened me with violence on Facebook and on AVFTT. Threatened to find out where I live and come and batter me. With regard to Simms, he said he'd prefer Brad Holmes, Apter or Bange back in March.Tbf - you said the same about Simms as you have done with JJ…
I think Keogh was a reasonable signing… but I expected him to be 4th or 5th choice CB with him taking on a mentoring / coaching role as opposed to first choice RCB. With the lack of a proper RB his lack of pace is being brutally exposed.
I'd give our own an opportunity.
I believe it is.Midfield is not an immediate priority.
A source I have close to 62 told me that he calls us oranges, not tangerines .... Shame!62 years and counting?is this how long you have supported the pool?if so that prob makes you around my age ,do you not think it's time to be making friends not enemies ,chill out a little behave yourself ,we all know things aren't brilliant re the squad ,but FFS give critch and the players a chance to prove they have what it takes to at least survive in this totally unforgiven league ,go on nobbers site and listen to their fans ,for a supposed established championship team sounds like they have far more problems than any of the new kids on the block let's all start being positive ,I admit my glass was always half empty ,but it was to make me feel better if we won when not expected to Up the mighty tangerines (FFS let's stop beating each other up on this board),and yes everyone is entitled to theirs opinions and comments ,but if has been stated you are indeed a true tangerine Then time to start acting like one.
