Gambling firm 'Leo Vegas' sponsoring the new shirt...

In response to the many queries I've had about getting the new adult shirt without the sponsor's logo on, I've checked with the Club and the answer is no, this is not possible.
That's OK, just means last year's will get an extra year's wear

Since this means that hundreds will now become addicted to gambling, just curious how many switched to Utilita for their energy needs?

Was thinking about the kit launch today, and its strange that they did a big reveal video With the Utilita shirt and weirdly in Beesleys size.....
Makes me think that utilita where always the front of shirt sponsor and kit was ready to be revealed probably last week. Then LeoVegas have stepped in, offered way more than Utilita and probably subsidised them to put their logo on the back. Theres no other reason for the Utilita shirt to be in that video. So id imagine the club have made a fair wedge off the sponsorship and basically 2 deals for 1 shirt.

Why aren't people moaning about playing in the Sky Bet Football League, boycotting watching games, beating up Tony Parr for saying "welcome to todays sky bet league 1 match". Just because it has a betting company on it doesn't mean your going to see it and gamble your life a way. Everyone loving the replica shirt with Bass on, not turned you into raving alcoholics. Can't pussy foot around people with weaknesses. Utilitas ok though, another energy company ripping off the nation

Anybody remember Rev Black and the Rocking Vicars?
Featuring the late, great Mr Kilmister (aka Lemmy) no less. A rather overused term, but, if ever the billing applied, this man was a true legend. And, as a forerunner to peerless rock outfit Motorhead, Rev Black and the Rocking Vicars, fronted by Lemmy, kicked some serious ass in Blackpool and the surrounding Fylde coast throughout the '60s.

Bit late to the party on this one but interesting what Tim said from the Sponsors night that they sought us, the company is part of MGM and owns Radisson Hotels - so betting aside a bit more reputable than BetSid or Wonga!!

Does anyone think the logo is positioned too high on the shirt? It doesn’t look right to my eyes

They should have got a better sponsor.
As said on the other thread, Blackpool is a town synonymous with arcades where people gamble... the league is sponsored by betting, many other clubs do it.

It is what it is for me. Preferred the Blackpool one for the logo etc, but it's about revenue.

Ironically, some might say the club have taken a little gamble going with them...

Not over keen on this sponsor, but when I first saw it I had to double take as I thought it was a p1ss take for the phantom farter in the North with a LOVEGAS made up shirt 💩 I didn't have my 🕶️ on 😂

Morally questionable- yes. Distasteful - yes. But the fact is the club needs money to fund what it does… and that includes funding the good work that it does in the community too. Will having a logo on a couple of thousand shirts really encourage more people to gamble? I can’t imagine that’s likely.
The club and the company could calm this storm down right now by publicly committing to work with and find local charities and health services that assist problem gamblers.

Just a heads up tp anyone that is buying the shirt, mate of mine got one for his lad and said the sizes are on the snug side. So probably better getting a size bigger.

So according to some, paying to have your companies name on the front of a teams shirt doesn't have any commercial benefits to that company (ie attracting more customers) I guess they are paying all that money as a charitable gesture then.....

The benefits are having a mobile advertising hoarding on TV every week with an audience of millions that they don't have to pay for the ads slots.

Those wearing the things in the crowd aren't the target.

I think a lot of emphasis is being placed on the idea that overnight this company is now going to create an additional number of problem gamblers within the Blackpool area. I don’t think for a second that’s the case. What will happen is that existing gamblers may well think about using a product or service they’re not currently using - working with Blackpool FC brings publicity and makes people more aware of them as a company. It’s naive to think all of a sudden people are going to discover online gambling because of this sponsorship agreement.
