Garrity and Brunskill confirmed assistants.

Not keen on that… Brunskill seemed to just stand about. Stats with the 3 of them aren’t particularly good.
Agree on the stats. When Brunskill joined we went on our worst run of the season. He also took both to QPR and failed.

Whenever Critchley went on his best runs with us, he had experience in either Calderwood or McCall on his backroom staff.

Doesn't quite work like that with Assistant's does it.

If these are the two guys that Critchley wants to work with then let him crack on. Hopefully we reap the rewards!
Thommo was kept on as assistant for many managers here and at PNE
Harford at Luton has been there forever
If they are good enough you keep them.
These 2 are personal friends who will not question Critchley, and think cone handling is probably their level

Probably the comfort factor with Critchley. He'll want people round him who he knows and trusts to act on his instructions.

That's probably more relevant than getting someone unknown in with good coaching qualifications but unfamiliar with Critchley's methods.

If the intention is to achieve consistency throughout the whole club, then this appointment makes sense.

Towards the end, Thommo was completely sidelined though.

If Critchley needs a comfort blanket then he is probably in the wrong line of work.
He does not need yes men but ultimately goes for them, rather than people strong enough to question him.
Dobbie is best distancing himself from this set up.

That was never the case, each manager has his own personal choice.
So another 3 out before end of the season
Hopefully assistants are not on 4 year deals.
Critchley left the assistants in the lurch last summer, so they must be desperate to rejoin him

Given the elapsed time between Critchley's re-appointment and this announcement maybe we did try looking for alternatives but maybe they weren't available? I would have liked to see someone like Keith Southern as an assistant to build in some kind of continuity

Critch wants and trusts them.
I want what is best for the club.
If Critchley leaves would you expect either of these appointments to step up in the head coach role.
I want someone who is a strong enough personality who would question and advise the head coach, not faceless yes men.
Let's be clear the wheels were coming off the Critchley bandwagon well before he left, reappointing all 3 footballing managers/coaches does not fill me with confidence.

We all [well most ] of us want what's best for the club. It's Critch's choice so be it on his head if it works or not. Some of us might have wanted Dobbie but Critch is in post and it looks like SS has set the re-set button to get back on track
after last seasons disaster ! Let,s support them, UTMP>

As if people are moaning about who the assistants are.

None of us know anything about these individuals so where the negativity comes from I don’t know.

They are known and trusted by Critchley to carry out his instructions. It’s not like they will be implementing their own plans on the training ground.

In other words they sound like yes men. And that’s supposed to be exciting?

... in a nutshell.
The best managers appreciate their people challenging them and their methods

Well they work under Neil Critchley so yes I would have thought they will implement what the manager wants them to.

What is there to get excited about with assistants?

I think more thought could have gone into this and Critchley’s results improved massively with support(and plenty of it) from colin calderwood and then Stuart McCall. The fact that both have been heavily involved in the promotion of their new sides speaks volumes. I would have preferred a more proven and experienced assistant ( not Appleton Mellon or McCarthy though before anyone asks. Fingers crossed this works but my worry is we are 12th at Christmas and clearly not going for automatic promotion…what happens then or are people simply happy with mid table mediocrity? I would like to see a clear laid out strategy with realistic targets for this management team to achieve. We simply cannot afford to languish in this division and we need a major overhaul to threaten promotion.
