Gavin and Stacey

This along with Catherine Tate, Mrs Brown's Boys, Little Britain and Miranda is for thick people who don't really understand comedy but can just about laugh along with a studio audience.

The caveat would be it has genuinely funny and likeable people like Ruth Jones, Rob Brydon etc in it, but James Corden is the turd in the punchbowl

There is no studio audience for Gavin and Stacey.
It seems you 'don't really understand' that or are you just 'thick' ?

So everyone has to go along with your opinion.
Feel free to enlighten us all as to how to actually understand comedy?

Just to expand a bit, to me it's quite subtle. A lot of it seems to me at least, to show how futile modern life in the UK is. How futile our existence is. But also at the centre is a passionate love story - I do really like it, the characters are very well developed IMO and exaggerated caricatures of real people.
Ruth Jones is the talent at the centre of all the good stuff, Horne and Corden's own sketch show was awful, not funny, not subtle IMO.

I never watched it at the time it was on but have watched it in recent years. I liked it in a "Royal Family" kind of way. Not a straight comedy but a kind of easy to watch show with amusing moments. There has been a lot worse out there.

I liked it when it was on but I didn't think the one off Xmas special a few years ago was up to much.

I loved the first Xmas special they did.
