George McLaughlin - Fleetwood Drummer

Yep this is horrific, known his dad for a long time, he used to do the doors in Blackpool and is head of security at cods, keep fighting young man ♥️

My Grandson was also in a (motor)biking accident the on Tuesday, a bottle hit his front wheel and he lost control on the wet road. He fared a lot better than George though, just three breaks in his arm and a dislocated thumb.

Is he actually the drummer or the guy who stands on the barrier, getting them all going?
Either way - hope he makes a quick recovery.
He's the lad on the barrier who gets them all singing, known as "Naughty George" to the locals and his old fella Tony does the security for the Cods.

Apparently his pal was driving a wagon with George riding his bike and hanging on behind it and the wagon braked and ended up running over him, he is in a very serious condition in Preston Royal hospital.

Just the other day I saw a lad being pulled behind a motorbike on a normal bicycle. Hope this isn’t some new internet thing. He was doing nearly 40mph.
We’ve all gone stupid things. I remember being pulled on a tow rope behind my Dad’s car on a skateboard!
Hope this lad recovers with no life changing injuries.

Hope the lad recovers...been a few horrendous accidents recently, there was a lad air lifted to Preston hospital last week, who came off a trials bike on Fleetwood beach, sounded bad....

Hope he recovers. If it was drug/drink driving we we should be throwing longer sentences at these people and banning them from driving for life.

100% - horrific to think how this could change his life yet some thug high on drugs will probably get thousands thrown at them to help them get their life back on track!

Apologies for bumping this thread, but with them playing tonight and I spotted what is presumably a banner for George in the Town (Park?) End,.

Regardless of what anyone thinks of them as a club, I was just wondering if anyone knows how the lad is getting on?

Hopefully he is recovering.
Yes, saw that banner. Get well soon.

Yes "Naughty George" as he is affectionately known is slowly on the mend, he has life changing injuries and it will be a long slow haul for the lad with a lot of rehab to do, but he is alive and for that I'm sure Dad Tony who heads security at Highbury and his family will be eternally grateful. One of my sons had a life threatening illness and believe me its any parents darkest hour, thankfully he fully recovered.
