Give Carlisle more tickets

And stop suppressing the match day atmosphere, we are gonna end up with other local clubs only allocating us reciprocal amounts ! Give them an extra 1k as we need to get our mojo back, some of the best atmosphere's we have had for years was with the large away followings Bburn 2-1 win , Boro last min loss but loud and proud.#letsgettheatmosphereback

we changed it as everyone was moaning it gives the opposition an advantage…. Even Hubby said the players hate it when the east is full of away fans……

Yeah don't get why we wouldn't bring more money into club and town... understand if we were giving part of North or south.

As for them creating an atmosphere... well home supporters need to up the game then.

Just give them more... and if its due to policing or facilities then say

Problem is the North. It's a flashpoint and realistically 'on a warning'. The potential money gained could be wiped off with extra stewarding and possibly fines.

As I've said before, best way of getting more away fans in is to move the press to the West and then you'd could slide away fans along depends on demand whilst keeping the last block free Face it, the new East is some way off yet.

Don’t sell any bottled drinks and don’t let anyone bring bottles into the ground.

That would stop the numpties throwing them.

They need to stop being a bunch of bottle job merchants.
When it comes to Preston away they shit themselves so much it’s embarrassing.
Didn't shit themselves in front of the best part of 18,000 Pompy fans.
Were you embarrassed last Saturday?

Not for me.why give them the advantage. If we end u two or three down it ends up like a home atmosphere for the away team

Why can't we sell extra tickets to away fans in the South East corner below the hotel? I can't recall that ever being used other than the play-off game during COVID when everyone had to be 2 metres apart.

Ha....we both wrote the same thought, at the same time.

Like you say - cannot understand why those seats under the hotel bar are never used for away fans.

It's been posted loads in the past.
The police and club couldn't run a kids party with the east being as it is at the minute.
Potential flash point at entry to North East and unless decent netting erected in front of the North things WILL get thrown, some just can't help themselves as there are no repercussions to the supporters🤷
Entry and exit at South East is a ** joke with the police undecided whether to close roads or where to shepherd the away fans, ( if they can be bothered at all)
Then we come to the stewards, what a bunch of incompetent wankers. IF it kicked off big style in the ground I wouldn't trust any of them to be any effect whatsoever. In fact I wouldn't trust them to keep my kittens apart from each other!!!

And THAT is why away clubs only get 2,000 tickets🤷

He was shite last night in front of about 150 Northampton fans, so I don't think we should be taking too much notice of him saying that.

It’s bollocks anyway, as if any pro footy player would like to play in front of less people regardless of who they are supporting.

Also, it appears to wake up our increasingly super quiet home fans when there’s good away support.

The club whack home fans with £30 ticket prices last season an increase of £6-10 from previous year(most games Cat B/C)their justification that to increase revenue from aways.

They need to make their bloody minds up

Spot on. Beyond ridiculous that we don’t sell tickets when the demands there. And don’t give me any baloney about our players not liking away fans down the side, they were useless with 200 Northampton fans there so it doesn’t wash.

They were fine with 18000 Pompey fans on all sides, for balance

Is there some health & safety, or police restrictions? If not, it doesn’t make any sense.
I'm fairly sure that's the case.

AFAIK, there aren't any facilities in the East, and they're using some of those in the South stand instead, from what I've read that gets pretty crowded with 2,000 fans, with more than that it'd be a nightmare.

My guess is that installing additional temporary facilities is either impractical for site reasons, or simply isn't worthwhile financially for the small number of games each season where they would be of use.

Carlisle fan in peace. Not sure what the crack is with limited allocations at the moment, but we're doing the same up here. 6,000 empty spaces against Derby, yet we didn't give them the Waterworks end (open terrace behind the goal) when they sold their initial allocation of 1,600. Bewildering - club could have taken another £30k in gate receipts but chose not to. You'd think clubs at this level would want as much cash as they can get their hands on.

Tickets for next Saturday didn't make it past season ticket holders priority, and I don't think it's an exaggeration to say we could have brought 4/5k down for this one, being about as 'local' an away game as we get. It'll be even worse at Christmas time when we play Fleetwood, with their allocation for visiting fans being about as small as it gets. Same last year when our 'local' games were Barrow and Hartlepool, both of whom gave us well under 1k tickets.

C'est la vie.

Well unless there is a stand safety issue it’s strange.

Might be that the EFL see fining clubs for a bit of banter as a cash cow and that clubs think what’s the bloody point of extra fans🤷🏿‍♂️

they do get stupid when Carlisle travel in numbers to a local (to them) game, as it’s not often they get a local Game. Remember them playing the nobbers and being given 5 thousand. They stopped in Lancaster pre game, smashed 5 pubs, a girl got raped in one of them.

I think somebody’s been spinning you a yarn. We did take 5k to Nobend in 2011, but it was an early kickoff on Boxing Day. I doubt there were 5 pubs open in Lancaster at that time on boxing day. Took 3/4k a few times in the nineties, but again there was no such incident to the best of my (or anybody else’s) knowledge.

We took 4.4K to Bolton a month or two ago without any trouble, despite train cancellations leaving thousands stranded after the game.

When we were in the PL, there were temporary facilities in the NE corner to server the fans who were housed there. These facilities, like the stand, were only given temporary permission and had to be removed. So there are no facilities in the north half of the east. If fans are in there, they either have to use the facilities in the North, so would have to be home fans, or the facilities under the south east, so they woul dhave to come along the side of the pitch past the press area and in front of the rest of the east. The facilities under the south-east can probably cope with 3k fans at a squeeze. There is also the issue of exit. Since the north was "reclaimed" there have been issues with fans mixing at the north east corner of the ground. This has been resolved by making exit gates into back henry street from the south half of the east, but it would still mean that any away fans in the north had to exit in the north east corner or trudge along close to the pitch towards the south. Neither option is ideal in a potentially tense/angry/hostile environment, and would require significant increase in stewarding and police. So the logistics of putting an extra 1000 fans in the north half of the east really don't add up. It may be that if they can definitely sell the whole north half, an extra 2.5k, in a match with low risk of misbehaviour, eg derby last season) then it makes financial sense to do it, but probably not a significant amount of profit to be made, and if that gives the away team any sort of boost, then it seems like not a good idea.

Good points and it probably is a safety issue, just a bloody shame as watching a football match live is so much better with a great atmosphere.

I worked as manager Mitchells, the pub chain in Lancaster at the time. All where open it was discussed at a group managers meeting after. They must have been lying then!
