Glad Maxwell has reminded a few…

How good he is.

I understand why people like Grimmy and I’d agree with the consensus that he just edges it as the better keeper.

But maxy is great as well, and always has been for us.

The way some have spoken about him and disrespected him since Grimshaw became the outright number 1 was always way out of line.

We have two solid keepers, Grimmy better for me but not massively arsed about the GK situation.

It's the fact we don't have a proper backup right back and decide to play 3 strikers up front like that. It's awful it really is.

Will have shushed a few of his critics tonight that’s for sure. Love to see it

Yeah all the elite coaches on here.

I'd go with that. He has been solid for us and got pelters from some fans.

I totally agree, Poveda and Corbeanu are simply better on the left and right as its their natural positions. Connolly puts a shift in but he's no right back.

Maxi was brought back in to stabalise the back four and provide experience and leadership to the the team, obviously he’s a very good keeper too. He’s been hurt not being the No1 and as good as Grimmy is he’s still got 1 or 2 area’s he needs to focus on and he will.
That’s very true. We look better as a defensive unit now.

I don't think Grimmy merited being dropped personally, but good to see Maxwell play well tonight, and the save at the end was outstanding.

We’re very lucky to have 2 solid goal keepers.

Leader and organiser exactly what we needed at the back he's also a better kicker than Grimmy.
When Connolly was injured you could see Max pointing to Marv and Thornley about tactics we've looked more settled in defence since his return.

I think max is a better keeper. Much better distributor of the ball and he certainly gets the ball out quicker Grimshaw seems to panic a lot which he will learn from as he’s still only young
Love both keepers but maxi for me in between the sticks at the moment.

He’s been brilliant since he came back in and deserves his chance after Grimmy left the door open for him.

Good decision by the manager after a few errors from Grimshaw, credit where credits due.

Looked to be very vocal last night
A big part of the keepers game should be communication
Something lacking throughout the team
Unfortunately for both keepers any mistake usually ends in a goal

I seem to recall Maxwell making a similar, last minute, save away at Sunderland towards the end of the promotion season.

Basically what I’m saying is the omens are good for a top 6 finish again 😂

I think it was fair to judge Maxwell as second choice after he came back from injury and put in very lacklustre performances. Being dropped has obviously been the kick up the backside he needed and he’s come back with a liking to prove. Which is great.

He made about five in that game.

Last night he was there right when needed as it was obvious that the failure to get the ball in between the posts up the other end from all the set pieces and faffing in the second half was going to lead to them having that one big moment that could have made us pay. Nothing to say Dan Grimshaw wouldn't have had the same reactions in that situation as he's pulled his teammates out of the shit plenty of times before in the last seconds as well.

What we've just got to watch for now is Maxwell getting a quad or similar injury like he's had before, and like everyone else seems to be constantly ending up with, or else it's just going to be chop and change back and forth again.

I think with the defence less coordinated and composed than last season at the moment, its a pretty good shout to give Maxi a go. Grimshaw is quality, but Maxi is a very good keeper too, and an experienced one and leader, who seems to marshall the defence a bit better atm. We've two very good keepers.

The defence has also been better with 4 at the back as its invited less pressure and they're not getting under each others feet as much

Since coming back from that reoccurring quad injury his few performances showed him to be rusty & Grimshaw took over. I'm glad he has had another chance & should now keep the shirt until either a drop in form over a period of time or an injury.

Yeah I agree, but the back 5 was a brief experiment as much out of necessity as anything else. Much prefer the 4, as I’m sure apples does too. I think Keogh was an important cog though and brought the best out of our best defender, big Marv (who I think is looking better again now btw).

Maxwell has done alright coming back in.

Seems more vocal.

Still the odd dodgy kick straight to opposition but Grimmy could do that.

Am glad he made that save, it was decent but one you'd expect your keeper to make, quite central the header, would be disappointed if it went in.

He's done alright, but that save at the end wasn't as impressive as everyone makes it to be. It was straight at him in all honesty, looked good at first glance but when you watch it back it should be a routine save for any keeper. I still think he was poor for Pukki's goal, but I suppose that's more at the feet of DT's mistake

I like Maxi. I think Grimshaw is a good shot stopper but Maxi has more presence imo. Can’t take anything away from his late save and Grimshaw did arse up a couple of times in games prior to Saturday don’t forget.
