Gnando

Sorry if this has been posted before but if Gnando is out of contract at the end of the season do you think he has played his last game for us. Also I wonder if with whats going on at the moment are there going to be many clubs rushing to sign him up. He might regret not signing a new contract. Or do you think because no fee is involved its a given that he will land a good deal

I think there will be a lot of out of contract players getting very twitchy just now. Are financially devastated clubs going to be able to sign players on decent money? Will they want to increase overheads? Could be a lot out of work for a while. The better managed clubs should have the edge on new signings when play resumes.

Contracts which come to an end on the 30th June have been extended - that's for all players at all clubs - so provided that the season resumes within a reasonable time period then Gnando should still be available to see the season out.
Of course he has to be mentally right to want to play which is a different matter altogether.

Dunno if Super Gnands is especially fragile. He's a confidence player for sure, but my assessment of his character based on little more than seeing him on the pitch is that he's fairly phlegmatic - or do I mean pragmatic... Or both? Not sure. Anyway, he doesn't strike me as a 'toys out the pram' sort...

His options will have reduced with clubs cutting wage bills

Depends whether our new manager wants to try and keep him or wants to play a different way

As said on a previous thread apparently not 1 of our biggest earners as he needed a club after coming back on the return flight from South Africa 😬

Yes he has had his best season but can he go again ?

In any case good luck to him

Is that for definite or just a proposal?

I don't think we have seen the last of him this season. The EFL currently want to finish the season and Gnando will strive to add more goals to his tally to increase his wages next season (in another club).

From memory, I think it was put forward by the EFL/PL and agreed by clubs although I think it's not legally enforceable. I don't think it would sit well with anyone in this crisis if a player was to publicly state he wasn't playing and his contract was up and he was moving on. Agents might be a problem.
That was a few weeks back and I've not read or heard any update since.

this is an interestig one as i believe he left us to go to South Africa only to find out the deal was not as advertised (too many overseas players i think?) so maybe time for him to show some loyalty to us after we took him back? That said if i was a pro footballer i would be looking to move every few years in the search for more "pictures of the queen"!

It is definitely not legally enforceable. This is one reason that some of the PL clubs want the season by 30 June.
