Gnanduillet

We “did well “ to hang onto him because nobody except Charlton was remotely interested. And theirs was a derisory offer. If he was as good as some people are trying to make out, the club would be fighting them off with a stick.

if you watched a video of his goal scoring he scores some absolute crackers, sunderland away, reading away, southend on the homecoming - he doesn't get the credit he deserves, put it this way, if he leaves for free come the end of the season he's going to leave a big hole to fill.

just because he doesn't look a top striker, his pace and power are deceiving, some of th comments are laughable

I don’t need to watch a video of his goals, I go to 90% of games home and away. I therefore, unlike a lot of posters on here, feel I am entitled to comment. I have never criticised his goals, it’s the rest of his game which leaves a lot to be desired. I don’t buy this “ where would we be without his goals “ because others would be brought into the game, instead of this one dimensional game that Grayson seems enamoured of. Out to Feeney across to Gnanduillet, all other teams sussed it out long ago, hence 10 games without a win. We need another plan, if Gnanduillet can adjust to that plan and keep scoring, brill, if not make way for someone who can.

I know he scored two to-day but did anyone else notice the number of headers he won in our own box from their corners and long throws.
People may criticise him but he plays an important part at both ends of the pitch.

He’s immense and brave imo in the air
You wouldn't want to mark him

There's some credence in that, but you can also argue that he is succeeding in a side that is otherwise failing. We only have one tactic for scoring, but the opposition still cant always stop it. Cos it's hard to stop, cos he's good at it. He's scores different kinds of goals too. It's not his fault that the other stuff around him doesn't work, and it's too his credit that he keeps scoring regardless of the disfunction. He's been getting blamed for our poor football when actually the midfield has been poor and Feeney has been his only support.

I would hate to be a supporter who is unable to appreciate the undoubted attributes that Gnando brings to our team . I think I would have to concede that my football knowledge was somewhat lacking . Sad , very sad .

I agree and don’t particularly want him to go. I just wish people would stop trying to make him the answer to a maidens prayer. He I good at what he does but is very limited. I wouldn’t like to think we would have to rely on him in a higher level of football.

That is an interesting view, but it is also supposition without evidence. His seventeen goals already this season are fact.

It is supposition correct, but if one avenue is blocked, you are forced to find an alternative. I am not saying it would be easy but it would make the manager find a different, and possibly better, approach.

I think you make a fair point there. But the system plays to his perceived strengths, and that is hardly his fault.

It's quite a while since we had a striker as prolific as him, isn't it? Any Morrell, maybe?

I don’t want to try and remember, just makes me realise how old I am.😂😂

I rate him highly has a good work ethic as well as getting his goals tally. We need to get him signed up to a two year contract. It would be crime to let him go on a free.

Your quite right basilrobbie, I caveated my whole point with the fact I don't rate him at all and have been fairly consistent with that and whilst he has scored plenty and because of that he cant just be dropped which I fully accept, it wont change my opinion on him as a player. I do stand by what I have said though but maybe your right and there is some bias in there against him but I just don't like what I see with him that's all and I don't think he would change my mind whatever he did now. Unless of course he learnt to control a ball and pass it and hold it up and make better runs and wasn't as lazy 😜

In other words, if he was somebody else.😂😂

Effectively a one man team tonight. When he goes at the end of the season, makes you wonder who will replace them?
