Going back to the Orient game

For me, against similar opposition, a game where we never looked like scoring and that’s the positive I’ll take from tonight - 3 well worked goals and we had another 5/6 really good efforts in that first half.
Going forward we looked great but we are too nice at times - why Norburn is great - playing the ugly side.
Without Hubs, Norburn, Joseph, Gabriel and Virtue - 5 players who are decent - I’d say we’re still in very good shape.

I would love to see us one day click for 90 minutes. Genuinely that was probably one of the best 45 mins I’ve seen from us for a long time. You can see what Critchley is trying to achieve and on the football side of things he has it bang on. We are creating goals now with steady build up, precision and accuracy in front of goal. Maybe what we still don’t have is that steely belief we can go on and win games.

Rhodes said in his interview yesterday that we’re still a young team and you could see that at times yesterday in the last half hour when we were playing like headless chickens - sadly lead by Weir who put in one of the most inept performances I’ve seen from a sub in some time. Carey was also totally ineffective and the sad thing is, as Bowyer said in the commentary, they were the right subs because we were getting flooded in midfield, but neither played the way they should.

Norburn and Husband were sadly missed to that extent and Connolly as Captain hoofing the ball whenever he got it hardly lead by example.
