Doubt he reads this but thanks for everything Jerry. From those early days when you were spotted in Manchester without your shirt on, the 'on the piss song', the day at Wembley and all the goals and funny interviews.
My 9 year old is heartbroken but thanks for the memories and if you're ever back in town there'll be no shortage of people to go on the piss with!

P.S. Maybe see you in a couple of seasons back in tangerine .. written in the stars!
 
It's not often a player leaves our club (any club I suppose) with 99.9% of our fans gutted but wishing him all the best and hoping he does well wherever he goes, that says it all really.

Always gave 100%, comes across as a genuinely nice lad and has been a huge part of the positive, upbeat atmosphere amongst the players.
When I went to the training ground he was mad as a box of frogs, messing around, making people laugh etc, he was also one of the first to say yes to a picture with my niece and have a chat with us. We commented afterwards that we bet he was the type of kid at school who was a bit of a nightmare but the other kids loved him and all the teachers had a little soft spot for him 😂
I'm sure his infectious personality will be missed around the place.

Not sure I've had what you would class as a favourite player since I was a kid but Jerry was certainly that.

Great character and he gave 100% every time he put on that tangerine shirt. He's given us a lot of good memories over the last 3 years and will be missed.

He will always be welcome back at the club and you just know it will happen at some point.

No matter what, I will always want to go on the piss with Jerry Yates 🍊

A player that gave his all and wore our famous tangerine with pride. Few have connected with our fanbase like he has. That said, he absolutely deserves to be playing in the Championship and I hope he goes on to be a massive success for Swansea. Good luck JY9! 🧡

I’m gutted, so is my lad. Jerry is a player we loved watching, because he gave his all, even when things weren’t going well. His skill and all round ability is very high, and sadly we didn’t get to see that to full effect, because we lacked in others areas of the squad.

Poorly managed by Critchley, which clearly impacted on his confidence. Lesson for Critchley, is that he needs to be able to manage different personalities. I’m not sure he can, but that’s another matter.

I’ll be watching Jerry’s career and hope he goes on to play at the top level. With the right players around him, he’ll score plenty.

First legend post-boycott era.

First player to score 20+ league goals in nearly 3 decades, promotion to the Championship, brace against the Nobbers, 124 appearances, always gave his all for the shirt and had a connection with the fans that we haven't had with a player for a long time.

Absolutely gutted he isn't staying, but he more than deserves a move to the Championship. Thanks for everything, we'll always want to go on the piss with Jerry Yates 🍊

I’m sure when he bangs on in at dumpdale next season he’ll lift his shirt to show a BFC emblem. Good luck for the future Jerry, you got us to the Championship as well as bringing in a couple of £m in profits. You go with my best wishes….,
 
For me an iconic player, and although wish him every best for his future career, like virtually every fan will miss his presence on the pitch and around the Club.
 
Have the club issued a statement yet regarding the departure of Yates?

I’ve looked on the website but nothing.

They were quick to dismiss the Critchley rumours so surely a statement is needed here to either confirm or deny he’s off? 🤷‍♂️

That rarely happens with signings. The manager is different. He's off and that's that.
 
The absolute work rate of the man.He set the standard for our successful pressing game.Never once criticised or moaned about the poor service he received even though you could see it was killing him.Would have been a great character around the club,very encouraging to younger players like Patino.

I will miss him incredibly in a tangerine shirt.His quick feet,his twisting and turning full backs inside out on the edge of the box.His underrated football brain in attacking positions.His bromance with Gaz Madine.His speech to sky sports after the play off final on the pitch “don’t contact me for a least a week”

The man is and was Mr Blackpool and I knew how gutted I would be when this day finally came

Onwards and upwards now.I’m excited to see who we get in to replace him.

Absolutely love the bloke. Wishing him all the best for the rest of his career. Once in a generation player who contributed so much to our club with his goals his staggering work rate, his fun, laughter and cheeky smile. Following the 'Pool will be a lot less enjoyable but like all of us we all agree he deserves this chance to achieve all that is inevitably coming his way. 😭🧡🍊
 
I still can't believe it... why no official statement yet

Latest rumour that rotherham will get 500k... if that is true and we only get 2m its a utter joke.

Come on BFC put us and all the rumours right and announce that he has gone for 10m and when we go up we have recall option... come on Simon :)
