Just launched into the situation re Zouma on Sky. Finally someone come out on TV and said exactly what we’ve all thought from day one. Take a bow Graeme
Said West Ham have handled the whole situation badly from day one. That if he was his manager he wouldn’t have kicked a ball again for West Ham this season. Also expressed his anger at the incident, not only the initial abuse of the cat but the fact that by putting it on social media he obviously thought people would find it entertaining.Which is?
Aside from the ‘wouldn’t play again all season’ part (too harsh imo) I fully agree. If he’d been suspended immediately it would have gone away.Said West Ham have handled the whole situation badly from day one. He was a fantastic playerSouness the animal lover was one of the dirtiest players I have seen. He was quite good at stamping on opponents, so his views do not wash with me.
He said it as it was.Just launched into the situation re Zouma on Sky. Finally someone come out on TV and said exactly what we’ve all thought from day one. Take a bow Graeme
His opponents were not small defenceless animalsSouness the animal lover was one of the dirtiest players I have seen. He was quite good at stamping on opponents, so his views do not wash with me.
Did Souness stamp on defenceless animals?Souness the animal lover was one of the dirtiest players I have seen. He was quite good at stamping on opponents, so his views do not wash with me.
Let’s hope so mateIn my opinion, his career is over in the UK. Football fans in general are quite unforgiving. He will be booed every time he takes to the field, probably forever. His club and teammates will eventually tire of it and he will be gone abroad somewhere.
As was Keane but also a thug.He was a fantastic player
Harsh and naive. A club paying 100k+ pw to a player are going to want vfm and will no doubt wait for the dust to settle and 'lessons have been learned'. They want him to play is the bottom line- finding the right way of doing that is what they've f'ed up.Aside from the ‘wouldn’t play again all season’ part (too harsh imo) I fully agree. Yep. That’s (sort of) what I was saying. They’ve made it worse by not acting.Harsh and naive. Slight bias there Gaz?!He was a fantastic player
Sourness was a thug, bully and more or less as likeable as a player as Roy Keane - he was quite keen to do to referees and opposition players and worse what the West Ham player did to his poor cat & worse !He was a fantastic player
Made me think about my views on people I've never met. Might stop me shooting before I look. Not his biggest fan, but happy to respect, or not his football opinions, but this is about non-football behaviour which is indefensible (and I don't even like cats) . For the record I've not met Keane, but there is nothing that would make me like him, which I understand looks contrary but isn't.Got to know Souness quite well when we lived in Mallorca in the 80’s, just after leaving Sampdoria to join Rangers, did a lot of work on his apartment in Cala Viñas, then on his villa in Son Vida. He was rather quietly spoken away from the limelight, his calf muscles were like lumps of iron! used to have a game of pool after work in his games room, where he displayed shirts he’d swapped with the likes of, Platini, Cruyff, De Boer brothers et al. Great memories.
big bill bentley chopper mcphee to name just 2The big difference being that the opponent could kick Souness back, and if they had, Souness wouldn't have moaned about it.
I bet there have been many Blackpool players over the years who have kicked an opponent and you've cheered.
This board is chock full of secret Scousers. You can tell who the manc supporters are they just can't help it they have a obsession with anything to do with Liverpool and their opinions are driven by it .Something happens to people that support that club it's like they catch a virus .All the plastic mancs on my FB never stop going on about Liverpool they need help
I had a verbal spat with sour face Souness back in the late 70’s in Blackpool. He backed down quickly when I made it obvious that if he wished to step outside to continue the conversation I was more than willing. If his ugly mug comes on tv I have a chuckle then switch channel.Sourness was at Middlesbrough the same time as a certain Gary Briggs.
Both left in 1978.
