Run two teams and so Sundays are always hectic. I'm from a village so if you wanna play football your in the team. Some lads cant run, some lads dont like tackling, some lads like falling over alot, some lads skip around the pitch. Still none competitive in one age group in the other theyre 2nd bottom. That is it - just wanted to update you all.... you never know today they might get a win.... or I might get the sack 🤷‍♂️

Speaking of grass roots football, if you want a football fix this morning the top two Sunday sides Armfield and Highfield Social clash at Stanley Park 3g pitch today at 11am, Highfield must win this game to take it to the wire and an Armfield win all but secures them the title.

Weather looks decent and it should be a cracking game so get yourselves down there.

Yep, good shout for grass roots football. I'll be down at Boundary Park watching the next two best teams battle for third place. Sadly my lads team lost three key players to injury playing on the 4g pitch at AFC Fylde. One of those resulted in an ambulance being called, So a very tough game awaits with a severely weakened team.

A good game here finished 1-1 watched by a pretty big crowd including a few AVFTT posters.

yep, Eagle 1 Inter 5. A slightly harsh score line but Inter deserved their win. 6 guaranteed starters missing for Eagle and you just can't get away with it against the better teams. Game played in a great spirit and a very easy game for the ref.

As an aside going back to the 70's and 80's when i played, i just can't recall as a team having so many players missing. Perhaps as lads we were a bit keener to play back then.

Update - u11s lost 5-1, u14s lost 3-2. To be fair all the lads in both teams left with smiles on their faces..... I'm now looking for a cat to buy so I can kick it on a Sunday.

And there were at least 10 leagues in the Blackpool & Fylde Sunday Alliance in them days. l think a lot of kids these days pack in football when they leave school with perhaps too many other distractions 🤷‍♂️
