Gretarsson injury

Dislocated his shoulder as well as suffering a dead leg, absolute warrior that lad, puts himself about that much he seems to get injured at least 3 times a game. Will be a big miss for a few weeks but at least we've got Thornilly, Husband or Big Marv available to replace him 👍

Jeez - poor lad - sounds like he'll be fine though

Daniel Gretarsson has a dead leg but he's also dislocated his shoulder, so he's had to have that put back in its place. Demetri Mitchell came off with cramp.

That's the bastard referee! He's allowed Sunderland to do their rough stuff. What a grade A piece of total *********!

Hope he's OK. I wince every time I see someone go near him. Quality footballer who reads the game well but looks like a player who has been moved to centre half from midfield earlier in his career to dictate a passing game from the back.

I think we need to be bringing Marv on late in games to get him up to the pace. I don't think Wyke & Co would give him the same roughing up.

I wonder if we will see the return of Hubby at CB on Tuesday?
I think I'd stick with Thorniley
And, will Embo return??
I hope Embleton does return on Tuesday, because we missed him today. There was too much space between our front 2 and our midfield, which EE would have been in linking up play. I agree about Thorniley, he was very good today from the minute he came on. Hope viking recovers asap, as posted he's an excellent defender.

Deserving of MOTM with Garbutt. Both lads performances were excellent.

There was a poster on a while back (can't remember who it was 😉 ) who thought Gretarsson was a bit of a soft @rse and hadn't researched how tough EFL football was .
I think he knows now. 😃
What an excellent signing and well worth waiting for rather than rushing in and signing half the player on 1 June.

Wonder who we are lining up this summer now he’s had his first full year in competitive management?
Critch will have learnt a lot about the transition from Academy to mans football watching Simms, Ballard and conversely Woodburn.
I do not think Kemp and Woodburn were that bad. Kemp is doing well at Orient and Woodburn was trying to find his feet in a side that was in a state of flux. He did not get enough game time to write him off as a poor player, but needs to realise after his early success at Liverpool he has a, lot of work to do to reinvigorate his career

Good points

He’s had some knocks since he came here.

Bit different to where he’s played before I imagine. Quality player at this level.

Competitive league where he's come from but Aalesund had him in midfield then left back then put him left of a back three with a DM sat in front, so maybe not the same direct workload. Rolls Royce of a player when you look at some of the forward passes that go exactly where they should do, and how he reads danger. If he can stand up to the physicality every week in league one and take the big knocks then he won't be here long as left footers are a premium. Critchley's assistant was coaching in Norway so seems obvious how they found him.

I’m sure he can stand up to it, today was borderline assault ref lost the plot.

Was it roughly 62 years and counting since were were on such an unbeaten run?

I rate him, better passing than Ballard I think overall.

Tbh Thorniley has some class passing at times.

You would think Ballard being at Arsenal would be the pass master, I think he's decent but just a no nonsense defender too.

On the incident with the shoulder the Sunderland player made no attempt to get the ball but stepped into Maxwell and no free kick. It was wreckless.

If he has dislocated it he might not be back this season, 10 to 12 weeks at least for a rugby player maybe less for a footballer but if it hasn't gone back in it could be surgery depends what damage he's done to the muscle and tendons etc. Hopefully with the squad we have we will be OK.

Not Hubby - little game time.If you had to, you'd go with Thorniley but then I've dislocated my shoulder and been right as rain a couple of days later. Not a major thing tbh.
