Grimshaws penalty save

Said it at the time, does anyone remember Ray Stewart at West Ham? Or any more recent equivalent.

A straight run, hit the thing very hard, head over it as you do and aim for a top corner. Keeper will have no chance.

If I was a manager, and anyone missed a penalty that involved stop/start run ups or attempted fancy kicks I'd fine them a week's wage.

I would imagine the majority of supporters in the west would have saved that!
And had time to have a cup of bovril while their player was posing on his “walk” up.

What is it these days with penalties, when did this ‘Ministry of Silly Walks’ thing get introduced to the run ups. Place the ball, measure your run up as you walk backwards, pick your spot and hit the phookin thing as hard as you can. Really don’t know why modern day players have to complicate it so much.
They like posin' for the fans, it looks cool. 😂
