Handball????

100% handball. What I don’t understand is why none of our players appealed it ?
They did, everyone in the North and West saw it and the players did appeal it. With this ref booking everyone except the ball boys I think they were afraid of pushing it too far.

BBC...now there’s a trustworthy source of news...do you seriously think they had someone at the game...if so probably the Coventry person.

it’s sad but I have no confidence any more in the BBC when it comes to news..but a whole lot better than Sky or that new one with good old ( useless) Nigel.

What bugged me aswell was absolutely none of our players (maybe except Maxwell) could be bothered to even contest it with the ref. Just wandered back up the pitch. Any other team in this division you feel would have completely surrounded the ref.

camo off his face onto his arm and in the top corner, joke goal to allow.

Maxwell played him onside when he palmed the ball onto him. It was an attempt to cut out the cross and not "save" a goal bound effort. Because it took place on the six yard line it could be deemed as not "close" to the goal, that part of the law comes under the fateful word "interpretation". If it had been a goal bound effort, he would have been offside.

No, a goalkeeper's attempted save does not represent a pass outwards. The man was offside when the cross was made and he scored from that cross. It's all part of one move.

No, a save is classed as a goal bound effort or "close" to a goal bound effort, that was an attempt to clear the cross which was not, or close to, going in

No point arguing about it, IMO defffo arm after face, anyway it stood and we lost 1-0 move along.

It looked both handball and offside, I'm less annoyed about the time it was scored, it was a minimum of 1 minute of added time, not maximum!

I think the ref may have thought it was handball but had no confirmation. Was reading Howard Webb and he refers making some decisions on instinct on the basis of what was likely to have happened. The weakness of our players responses will have been noted. Even the Coventry players seemed uncertain.

Looked handball to me, ref didn’t have a clue, he let them go celebrate and was staring at the linesman for a good few seconds, when the lino didn’t budge he just ran back to the half way… that linesman was a disgrace, missed 2 or 3 other blatant offsides

There was one moment when there were three Coventry players in an offside position that would have gained an advantage from an onside player playing the ball back.

The guy playing the ball back was ok but it ended up with the no 10 inside our 6 yard box.

How is that not offside on all 3 attackers? Or has the offside law changed again?
