Happy St George's day everyone

How sad it is that I didn't know until reading this thread. 😕 That's partly my fault, of course, but also because for so long many of the leaders and opinion-formers of this nation have been ashamed to be English. How many other nations would treat their national day in this way? One day, normality will be restored.

Anyway, thanks to AVFTT, I now have the James Brown song in my head with different words --

I thought there was an England match, I'd forgotten about, then it dawned on me 🙄 So get a few St George's beers down your necks before the sun goes down. Oh happy St George's Day.
 
Youngest lad has been away with his girlfriend for her birthday treat.
He text me to ask where I was as they were going to pop round for a quick visit.
I'm at work but your mother will be at home, I said.
They pulled up outside my house and his girlfriend says, why have you got a flag outside your house?🤦‍♂️
 
Put a flag outside your house in America and your classed as a patriot.
Put a flag outside your house in England and your classed as a racist
