Have we all forgiven Critchley now?

Was absolutely gutted when I heard he was going, was at a mates housewarming and don’t think I said 2 words the rest of the day. I brought into him with everything and loved him, was pretty pissed off with the classless (their may have been reasons behind this) exit but understood the temptation of a Premier League job on a much bigger wedge.
After the shocking appointments last season I’ve been made up he’s back and although I haven’t managed to get to a game I wonder wether they’ll be a bit of unfinished business and frustration in the whole club and we will hopefully take it out on league 1 and make a speedy recovery. I’m very confident of promotion this season and honestly believe that set back of last year will end up doing us more good than harm, we will have learnt from mistakes and they really shouldn’t happen again
Fair commenyt H but you failed to mention how clueless he was at the 2 Clubs he went to on tonnes more money whilst virtually single handedly relegating us - he put us in a tail spin we never recovered or looked like recovering from - that was ALL down to NC

I was glad he left last time. People have very short memories:
The game against the knobbers
Never giving Jerry a fair run
Late substitutes
Negative football.

Didn’t mind him going to villa and totally understand why he did it - good luck to the bloke, but he left in the scummiest way possible.

I totally don’t buy the media whore excuses of why he left the way he did.

Giving it the fist pump on first game back - cmon FFS. Have some class.

I hope he does well but has the backbone and morality of a snake. Never gonna like the bloke but we’re playing well and hope he continues to improve the team.

Of him as an individual - not a fan, as a manager he’s probably classed as good.

We got relegated because we relied on him too heavily and were complacent by not having any kind of plan for when he left. Which, considering managers leave all the time (particularly one's with promotions on their cv), was appalling and entirely our own fault.

Have I forgiven Critchley, yes OK. Would I have liked to see what Stephen Dobbie might have achieved, yes very much so.
yep, good point. And I'd say that if Critchley was for some reason to leave again in the next couple of years or so, then unless Dobbie has moved on to manage a bigger club than us it's pretty much a cast iron certainty he'd be offered the job full time.

Garbage, what he did and more the handling Of his ‚walk out‘ sums up everything of modern working standards in the UK — u can’t do that to your employers or customers

Why everyone is being so nice to him seems frankly incredible — I certainly feel we‘d have stayed up last season with managerial stability

He better make a good job of it and know where his grass is greener — if he moans about anything well, he should consider what happened in the 12 months he wasn’t with us

Sorry he has a lot to prove

Agree with all of that Malc. I couldn’t bring myself to sing his name yesterday but keep improving us and you never know.

That's your opinion but I don't agree. How his 'walk out' was handled is irrelevant to whether we had a coherent plan for the manager leaving. If he'd left on good terms, we would've still made a mess of the subsequent appointment, and the summer transfer window. That's on us.
I don't like what he did, and how he did it, and I didn't want him back. But the decisions the board made afterwards were woeful. We needn't have been relegated just because Critchley left.

Personally I wasn't that bothered when he left and certainly didn't take it as personal as some

Most on here were devastated and didn't want him back at all comparing it to their Mrs leaving for someone else

So is he forgiven?

He's certainly come back different to how he left, it's a change in shape for a start and we appear to be playing a more attacking brand of football

He has that glint in his eye and his interviews also seem more honest than before

I like this new Critchley, the experience of him being away has done him good and all seems rosy in the garden at the moment
It’s no big deal that he never thanked the fans when he left and you can’t blame anyone for trying to better themselves and earning a few times more than they were on.
People over reacted massively IMO and I was wanting the fist pumps too. Get over it you soft sods.
