Whilst we are all stuck indoors boredom scoffing it would be nice not to kill ourselves by eating a load of of rubbish whilst avoiding covid 19 as that sort of defeats the object.. I have recently tried roasted chick peas and am now addicted. Drain a tin of chick peas rinse well and dry by putting them on a tea towel folding it over and rolling gently. Remove as many skins as you can without being to fussy( a lot will come away as you are drying them). Put in a very lightly oiled baking tray and place in the oven at 180 for about 15 mins dependent on size and if you want them crispy or not. Lightly season with salt and pepper and voila delicious and healthy snack. Trouble is they go very well with beer.

Excellent! I'm half way there already.
Seriously, I'm gonna give that a go.

Used to have these as a kid, from what I remember they were quite good.

Parched peas are brilliant but are hard to get hold of, I think Booths may do them.

Parched Peas are ace ,fart for fun with them too. ☺ 👍

Also don’t throw away the chick pea ‘water’. It makes an excellent substitute for egg white when making a meringue. In fact you wouldn’t notice the difference.

Bought a tin of Carlin Peas from Morrisons a couple of years ago. I think these may be the same thing? Not 100% sure if they were called that on the label? Will try and find out.

I know that the little wooden shack cafe by Fleetwood boating lake make their own parched peas to sell.
