Unfortunately had to cancel our big family holiday to Kos due to my 19 year old daughter being diagnosed with cancer in February, and still currently on chemotherapy treatment every fortnight 😢

We’ve rebooked the family holiday for August next year 🤞🤞
That’s awful & hopefully her age will help in her recovery 🤞

Our friends in The Dordogne, France have been having horrendous thunderstorms.
Had to text MrsDP as they couldn't use the house phone it was so bad.

Spent a fortune at chez Benny's so far this year with more to come, so holidays are limited, but we do have a cheapo one to Bodrum, a late one to Cape Verde, plus a few autumn/winter nights in a shed in Devon and 2 nights posh camping somewhere, which somewhere hasn't been decided yet.
Only break we've had so far this year is one night in Harrogate.

Next year is my last working year (retirement starts mid April😁) so the world will then be my oyster and we can do some proper travelling hopefully 👍

Edit - predictive text when I entered "oyster" it came out as predicting "Oyscums" how weird is that 😁😁🤣🤣

You should have finished ages ago kid!!
I'll bet Bodrum has changed a bit since I went (circa '87)
I'll expect an invite when the house is finished 👍🏻

Currently on Alps road trip
Two days sauntering down to Basel to pick Mrs TAM up with TAM minor as wingman
Then five days in Bolzano where I stayed in the best hotel I’ve ever been in ( a converted castle ), then three days Como and currently in the second of three days in Grindelwald before heading back to Basel to drop missus off and then road trip home
It’s been magical

Done Istanbul last month which was chaotic but an amazing experience not to mention dirt cheap. Off up to Grasmere for a long weekend with the wife at the end of the month before a short lads break in Benidorm start of July.

That sounds fabulous. Grindelwald is on my list.
Had 2 separate trips to Switzerland last year, beautiful.

Off to the apartment in the Orihuela Costa in a couple of weeks then going on a Princess cruise in August up to the North Cape with a drink package included.
Just hope weather is as good as it's been here.

Outer Hebrides for me. North and South Uist and Barra. 5 days this month 👍.
If you haven't been before, go to Vatersay from Barra. Two stunning beaches, and if you fancy a bite, lovely community cafe between the two. See thread on your happy place, Vatersay is one of mine.

And look out for ticks on the Uists and Benbecula
