Hollowhead

I agree with everything he says.

However, Ollie has a few obvious blindspots in his memory with regards to his Blackpool history.

Its good that a manager has spoken out so well about this and only helps the cause. He might have the media profile that some seem fit to criticise but his style helped the Seasiders to PL glory, where under different owners it could have been longer.
The Seasiders showed that any modestly sized club could get promoted to the top division, and light the place up with a sparkle and freshness that made a difference.
Holloway was central to that and certainly has the qualifications to speak on the matter.

whether or not I agree with what he said, there's still an awful lot of hypocrisy in there from him. I saw his interview in the dressing room after Cardiff and his focus on him being rewarded. Grant you, it's not on the same scale but a lot of Holloways motives are all about himself, money and his own greed.

Much like Charlie chucking his toys out of the pram during the January 2011 transfer window then? He's still Saint Charlie though.

Of course players and managers are motivated by their own aims, this isn't Roy of the Rovers.

Yep, you're right. But the world is full of hypocrisy and double standards isn't it?.

I will always be very grateful to Ollie for what he did for the club. He was a brilliant manager for us.
I personally don't think we would have gone up at all without him, but that's just my opinion due to his style of play.
But I think he sometimes forgets (conveniently or otherwise) what he has said in the past; I will always cringe when I think of him saying that Blackpool fans were spoilt (think he was defending KO again at the time)

I almost fell off my chair when I read this bit:

“I think governance is absolutely vital right now, because money is going out of the game left, right and centre, billions and billions of pounds buying footballers, and it’s going out the game".

Given who he worked for, that seems about 10 years too late for me.

I think you are being a bit unfair to him 20s, but you make a serious point. He des flip flop all over the place, and it is the first time I've ever heard him even suggest he thinks good governance is worth fighting for. I hope he continues to think that.

The fact that his club are perilously close to the bottom two in L2 is surely irrelevant.

Its very early days as you've pointed out with Critchley, and 'perilously' would seem to be bordering on insanity as some have suggested.

You just couldn't help yourself could you?
