Home sales under 9K. Disappointing.

Am I right in thinking clubs must have so many tickets available for non-season ticket holders at games?

Of course it will increase, but it is August and some will be away on holiday, some will still be concerned about Covid, and some may be suffering the economic impact of furlough/ redundancy etc.
And some have fallen out of love for the club following the NAPM years and probably won’t be going again! We are still bearing the scars of the Stains I’m afraid.

Right so say we sell another 1,000 between now and kick off. That takes it to 10k home fans. Add in hospitality. 10,800. Then away support. Let's say 2,000. We will be looking at an attendance of 12,800. Obviously those figures aren't totally accurate but we will be 12k plus.
And that is without giving away 2000 free tickets to kids like the Nobbers do!

People may be interested to know that our first home game back in the championship in August 2007, and after 37 years in the wilderness, was a 1-1 draw against Bristol City. Our crowd that day was just 8,983. With the exception of the PL season, crowds in August are usually lower because of home supporters being away on holiday and the unprecedented covid situation will undoubtedly also have some impact. Anything in excess of 11k will be a very good turnout.

We'd all like a full house but none of us know the impact C19 will have on attendances this season. Rather than pick holes in the numbers not sold, be grateful to have our club back and look forward to 5 figure gates in the Championship. Not only that, think of the quality of our support, as an example 17K Bristol fans that barely created any atmosphere, I'd wager we'll create more than most and make Bloomfield Road one of the better experiences this season.

According to that then the East holds nearly 6500???? I'm sure it's 5k??.

SS has to price it at a level that can generate as much income as possible. He’s poured money in and got us promoted. It’s often said we have a high % of exiles so this ‘too much for the people of our town’ doesn’t really wash for me.

Would you rather have the O’s back and pay £5 less a game?

Don't forget to minus off 190 for the 2 north front rows off his figures.

Also hospitality could add 700+ if near full.

We do have a big walk on amount usually but not sure how this high price will affect that or even how many may still want to come.

With a game tomorrow people may go and buy that and Sat and with a game tomorrow until that's out the way some dont concentrate on Sat until its much closer.

Well see how big the demand is but the price will be a factor for some and is misjudged for me.

85% of the ground outside of the East sold with 5 days to go. Within that time the West could be close to a sell out and the South will fill up a bit more. Add 2k+ Cardiff fans and hospitality and it will be a very full Bloomfield Road come Saturday..

The North being sold out alone will have the ground rocking. Should be a great day!

There isn't just 2 footballing states one is Sadler and the other is the O's.

We cant keep defending any high prices just with the ahh well its all going back into the club. Its great it is but we should also not be hitting fans in our poor area and in a pandemic which has caused issues for many.

Other clubs have shown more reasonable prices at times, also initiatives.

The friendlies were too high as shown in the attendances, the walk on prices and cat a is to high and that walk on only really hits home fans as most away fans buy in advance.

Ita a questionable approach. We should be doing all we can to build the fanbase, success is a big factor but so is price.

If we were debating it pre price release most will have said price it so we maximise attendances.

Anyone who thinks home sales of 9k are disappointing clearly has no grasp of where we are. Even during the first Ollie season early on we didn’t get many more than that!

Yes, our average attendance was 8,861 first time we were promoted to the Championship in 07/08. With 9,000 home fans alone we're beating that.

Get on? What does that mean?

It is a Prestonian phrase, I was born and lived there for 30 years but am a Blackpool fan, as are all my family who live in a PR post code, so your point is?

Maybe he meant everyone should get one.

But yes 'going on' the football is one of those weird regional things.

Like in Yorkshire and other places they say stuff like what for do instead of what to do.

Yet if you question them about it they look at you confused as to them its proper English.

Annoys me when people use tret instead of treated, tret isn't a word, not sure of thats a another weird oddity of that area.

It might help to attract those fans still wary about Covid if they opened up ticket sales across the East Stand as some may then be tempted to go in a less populated stand rather than everyone squeezed together in the other stands.

The Middlesbrough game looks like only the North and half the West stand is open so again they are squeezing people together.

Just doesn't make sense when we are in a pandemic and have been socially distancing for the past 18 months.

We didn't have a South Stand then - just a three sided ground so perhaps that attendance was not far off capacity.

But don’t forget the 100 fans locked out of the two stands!

With respect that's bullcrap. We are one of the cheapest in the Championship for match day ticket prices, I put a list up on another thread and there's only a couple below us. It's a business FFS! It's August with loads on holiday, loads working as it is the season and Covid will still put people off.

It's a perpetual whinge fest. I'm sorry, but it's not a freebie free for all, it's Championship football with massive overheads and costs. Look at how many clubs are on their arse financially, even in our league. If you can afford £25 you can afford £30, if you can't afford it, you don't go, as simple as that. I'm sure those who can't afford it can afford their beer and fags, sky TV and a bet on the horses etc.,

I never had a pot to piss in back in the early 80's but never missed a game home or away because I lived it and had to be there. If you're not really arsed then come when you are.

08/09 and 09/10 there should be at least one sell out as the nobbers were in our division. 07/08 we sold out against Preston, Newcastle and Bristol City possibly a few more. It's worth noting that these three seasons we had two stands and a golf stand for an away end with a total capacity of 9500. It's looking like Saturdays attendance might be lower than the three average attendances from 2011 to 2014. In contrast the nobbers got 12,400 on Saturday when loads of them are really disillusioned with the way their club is being run. Loads on here have been mocking their attendances but here we are struggling to get 10,000 home fans after promotion and missing out on live football for 18 months. Slightly frustrating but if this is our biggest gripe with the club then we are doing ok.

Are we so sure that loads won't turn up on the day? If I wasn't a seadon ticket holder and I knew I was going to the game on Saturday. I would just get to the ground for about 2pm and buy a ticket there and then. Or has it been stated somewhere that on the day sales aren't permitted?

They might do, it hasn't been mentioned that sales on the day aren't permitted. The problem is are people from such a poor town going to pay £30? Some might do but I doubt they'll come back at those prices. I get that we have to be competitive but lowering the prices(not freebies) would have got more in, then you get the secondary spend in beer and merchandise sales. Get them in first and get them hooked for life before putting the prices up.

Its not bullshit at all, 30 is a lot in Blackpool for a walk on.

Maybe people have the money and will divert it away from other things.

But I don't get this denial from some on here of a proven principle in price being a factor.

Of course the cheaper it is the more interest there will be.

Its not a charity, to charge less and have more attend and make a similar amount, its called investing in the future and building the fanbase.

I'm sure those who don't have a lot of money, where cheaper prices would help them attend more games, are grateful there are so many on here who keep downplaying the cost. It should never be 30 quid, that's gone up by a tenner for these games to the last season people could go in a worse financial climate.

The club know the habits of people who walk on so hitting them with a higher price seems counter productive.

These constant moaning about the prices do my head in just look what we paid in the past, had a discussion with someone last week about prices he paid 29 quid in 2013 as a Bristol fan in the away end.

Post PL the matchday price has never been as low as 20 quid until 2019/20 even the homecoming was £23 to get in!

Attendance: 12,452 (1,798 Hull City fans). so just over 10k Nobbers
